Hi there,

just got a Galaxian with this monitor in it.
Looks like something from Wells Gardner to me but i have never seen this one.

I made sure the pictures are not sidesways but as soon as i upload them, they are.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Joerg

Looks more like an Electrohome G07 (the light colored flyback and the shroud around the tube).

Thanks!

My first thought was K4600 because of the little boards and the plastic bracket that holds them in place but this giant adjustment thingy next to the yoke (my other k4600s don´t have that), the different looking flyback and the remote adjustment board confused me a lot.

for sure the WG4500 which is super common in galaxian games.

Yes, and from reading here today i learned i shouldn´t even bother fixing it if required :)

i have had several of these and when bad i replaced them. they are closer to a TV chassis than an arcade monitor in my opinion and way too many pots to adjust.

Delta gun tube, hence the complex convergence board.

That is interesting stuff... just read up on those a bit.

It really quite a testament to ingenuity how color CRTs were ever successfully engineered for mass production back then. The tolerances involved manufacturing everything from the gun to the shadow mask to the printing of the phosphor dots and in lining everything up to make a tube without color splotches are pretty unforgiving.

And to think now I can't even buy a frickin' new cordless drill from any of the brands out there that doesn't have some noticeable degree chuck/drill bit wobble because of shitty manufacturing tolerances.

Picture tube technology is really fascinating to me.

UPDATE:

Yesterday I decided to power up the k4500 the first time. I didn´t plug in any video signal. Had a green screen and smelled of heated up 35 years old dust and after approx. 20 minutes it died. Too bad.
