replace the whole monitor? whats a good canidate?

I would use a G07 or a K4900, but any standard res 19" will do. You need to keep the big wood frame from the 4500 and transfer your new monitor into it. I remember having to do a little bit of frame hacking to get a 4900 mounted in there.

Yep, my Galaxian had a 4500 too and it had convergence issues. The neckboard is huge and has a lot of pots to do convergence (combined with the usual rings etc.) and despite putting in several hours to try to get it adjusted I never was near an acceptable result,so I decided to replace the monitor too.

They really aren't that bad of a monitor... I think some of these guys here just don't understand delta gun convergence :D

What's wrong with it? I would just fix it - once you get it fixed up, they actually can have a very good picture.

anyone want to tackle this one?

You're not going to find anyone willing to repair that monitor for less than it would cost to just replace it (unless you have a good tech buddy nearby who owes you a favor). So unless you want to put in the time to fix it yourself (which will likely be a frustrating waste of time), it's time to go shopping for a replacement. Either find a decent used G07/WG4900/etc., or pick up a TV tube and buy a generic chassis replacement from Alva or 8liners (cost ~$60).
