I picked up a wheel of fortune redemption game real cheap only to find out the sound wasn't working. I called the tech line and they had me check ohm on speakers, and a couple other voltages. Everything was fine and I even checked it with a new speaker. He mentioned the amp on the main board may have an issue. Anyone hear of this before or have any wisdom to share. Thanks Tom

Those amps fail often. They are a pain to replace, the chip legs are very skinny
and they easily break off. The manual doesn't have a schematic, you'll need to look
at the chip to get the # off it. It stands vertically and is mounted to a heat sink.

Approx how much are they do you think if I can replace them myself

Hard to say - if you can get a number off the chip, you can check DigiKey and Mouser.

Can you replace them? That's hard for anyone to determine - we don't know your level of experience in soldering, or what equipment you have handy. Do you have a soldering iron? Could you recognize an amp? Do you have good desoldering tools?

If not, ask for help. If you don't have all of the above, you could possibly do damage to the board and make things worse.

What did you do in the Army? Fly helicopters? Work on them? Work on avionics?
