I got an ICB about a year ago but only recently started really playing it. A couple nights ago I got to the 3rd stage (20+ holes) and was done on hole 28. The game gets pretty hard on the third board because the bar goes up on its own pretty quickly.
Anyway, I kept thinking that it would just continue to get harder and harder, but tonight I got past it and thrn the 4th board was really easy again...and so was the 5th, and the 6th.

I eventually quit at about 30,000 points.

So, is that it? It just stays easy forever after that?

Yep... I believe so. I've seen other threads about it too, though I don't find it ever gets harder, though I'm pretty much always moving the bar, so I rarely get the automatic bar movement.

Yep, so no more fun for you. Sell to me so now I can enjoy!! I can't get past hole 3 yet. Lol
Let me know if you get bored and want to sell or trade. I have buddy in stafford that has a warehouse of games to sell,or trade or pick up if I buy anything that way.

I'll probably keep it for a while. Last time I had people over, ICB was played nonstop by people of all ages. I'll keep it just for that reason alone unless something really good comes along.

I agree... it's always a party favorite.

And if you have a couple good players, you can keep it interesting by playing a game like H-O-R-S-E. Set a path to get to the hole, then the next player has to follow that path to go around that hole and set the path to the next hole, and continue until someone loses. Or if you're the only good one, just have someone else call out the path and see if you're up for the challenge (draw it on the glass with a dry erase marker if you like).

I've thought of possible hacks/mods to make it more interesting, but nothing simple jumps out at me as making it real fun. Maybe single side bar bumps, reverse or swapped controls, etc... but they're all kinda gimmicky. Obstacles on the playfield would be nice to force you to take more difficult paths, but I'd be afraid of damaging the playfield.

Damn, dude you made it to the 4th pass through? I admittedly haven't been playing it that much, but my record so far is getting to #9 (not in, just to #9).

One of the guys at work made it into #10 though, not sure how much further he got.

It is a great keeper game though... even if you get bored with it, it draws people who otherwise hate coin ops which is pretty cool.

Change of heart, and I found something else I want.

Also in the For Sale section: Ice Cold Beer, working 100%, side art is missing a section on one side and scratched on the other, but I will include new side art. $800 firm

I've had mine in the game room for over a year and I think I got to about 8 or 9 a few times. Been thinking it might be time to trade for a nice pin. But yes... It's a game that non-gamers are always drawn too!

How about best score (i.e. time) for say the first 5 holes? People that can't manage the upper holes can still participate. Too bad it doesn't appear possible to set it for 1-ball play - that would make it quick to switch players.
