I have a line on an Ice Cold Beer. it is in below average cosmetic condition and not working but complete. Owner says he feels like it has a "board problem" Glass and playfield look ok so it could probably be made nice with a cp overlay, woodgrain for the sides and t mould.

What's something like this worth? Can the board be repaired? Any kind of electromechanical work/soldering I can do. I can replace through hole components no problem.

What should I offer?

Pictures would help. Is the cabinet water damaged? Falling apart? Is the sideart all there? Is the base there? What about the bar that goes across the front that lifts the ball? Is that whole mechanism complete? Are the plastic connectors that hold it in place broken or solid? Do the motors turn? Is it all gummed up? Is the board rusty and filthy? Or does it look relatively clean? Does it smell like cat pee? Is it full of mouse poop? There's a lot of factors there.

I would think that if it's in overall decent restorable condition then $250 to $400 wouldn't be out of line. Maybe more. Maybe less.

It all depends on how much you want it. People will probably chime in and say a couple hundred bucks. I have been looking, and i haven't seen any go for under $800 in working condition. So not working, needing a cpo that is readily available. IMHO $500 is not too much to pay. As long as all the parts are there and glass is in good shape. No water damage.

Making offers is all a game. How much does the owner know about what it's worth. Or perceived worth? You don't want to make an offer that is so low he tells you to get the hell out. But you don't want to throw money away either. I would probably start with $200 and see what he says. You can always go up...

I've seen these games sell several times for around $600 in "as-found" condition (broken belts, gummed up bars, rotten bases, etc).

Riptor can repair the boards (I sent him a couple recently)

That answers my question. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't some super rarity valuable in any condition. Sounds like in rough shape $2-300 is about it. Boards are repairable. Thanks.

Ok since no one else asked which ice cold beer are you looking at? The 80's one or the 2003 one?

The 03 one ICE(the maker of that one) still offers repair on the boards.

The 80's version? I've seen them go in the 600's in as found condition. Guy local to me had three in rough shape that he sold on here very fast and I think they went for around that in the set. Personally enough have been sold as of late where I'd be looking for one in better shape if possible.
