I've got an opportunity to pick up either an Ice Cold Beer or a Baby Pacman for the same price but I can't afford both. I was told that the Ice cold beer needs work on one of the belts and the Baby Pacman has some bad switches due to corrosion. Both cabinets and artwork are in really nice shape.

I like both for different reasons but was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on which way to go. I am leaning towards the Baby Pac since I don't have any pins yet (its almost a pin) but the Ice cold beer is just so cool looking. I know it's rough to have this choice to make ;) but I want to make the right decision.

Any help is appreciated.

I think ICB is more rare so it might be a good opportunity BUT I think it's more of a cool party/novelty game with shorter legs when it comes to play longevity. The arcade footprint is smaller.

Baby Pacs seem to pop up all the time for less and the vid aspect is a tough game. I just bought a cosmetically decent Baby Pac for $300 with a blind monitor and questionable MPU and Vidiot boards. I'm going through the re-pinning process now, after finishing cap kits on all the boards. I'm getting all flashes now and close to playing. They seem to be notorious for being technically finicky.

For entertaining groups, go with ICB and for personal challenge get Baby Pac. I'd say they're both novelty games but I would get the ICB now and wait for the next Baby Pac, if you can afford the room.

Choices, choices

I'm seeing a trend here...Thanks for the input guys. I'm still deciding which way to go and I'll post back with pics!

i'd go ICB (the belts are easy to replace; i think Bob Roberts has some info on his site for that,) but then again i don't like Baby Pac as i feel it's neither a good video game nor a good pinball machine.

+1 for Ice Cold Beer...

You can find a Baby Pac anywhere...ICBs seem to be much more elusive :)

I sold my Baby Pac. Still have my ICB. :)

Interesting. I sold my ICB, still have my Baby Pac. Me an my 11 year old boy were getting it in hole 10 everytime. Personal choice really though. Honestly, I like them both and would pick up another ICB if I got a deal on it.

ICB seems a little more "accessible" than Baby Pac... the transition from monitor to pinball playfield isn't entirely intuitive/clear for some.

Get the Baby Pac, then tell Arcrevival where the ICB is so that he can pick it up for me and bring it to CA when he moves... ;)
No, seriously.

Okay, honestly I don't know. I like my Baby Pac, and I originally got it for one of the same reasons that you stated - I don't have any pins and it's half pin, right? Not really, lol. It's cool, but it won't make up for a full fledged pin. On the other hand, I've never played an ICB, but I want one really bad. I would probably trade my Baby Pac for one.

Yeah, its crazy because I've never played either of these games and I wasn't shy to play new games back in the day. Just never these two and now I can get one. Wish I could get them both and not have to weigh the pros and cons.

First off, I will admit that I never played an ICB so I don't know what it's like.

But... After 12 years, I still have my Baby Pac and still love it.

Oh Dude.

In your YouTube video, you said you would never sell your Baby Pac Man.

ArcadeMaze!

I did sell it, it's true. However, I went and looked at another one this year. So, I do miss it and I would buy another if I saw one. Baby Pac is a neat game for sure.
