I finally got my ICB up and working but not 100%, one small glitch to figure out. Game seems to do everything it is supposed to except when you start game the bar moves up a bit too far dumping the ball in the hole to the right of hole 2 and will repeat the sequence till you lose 3 plays. If I prevent ball from going in hole initially I can play the game just fine, sounds all work lights all blink properly. All the socketed IC's have been replaced with known good ones, game passes all tests. Anyone have any ideas on what problem could be?
Thanks for any help,
Rich

sounds like some kind of board issue, as it's driving the bar too high. it should stop relatively close to the top of the credit/high score/star area. pm riptor, he is pretty good on ice cold beers.

Sounds like you just need to adjust the limit switch. Bend the tab on the switch so it engages sooner. It will take a few tries to get it just right.

I guessing you mean I should adjust bottom limit switches? Schematic shows limit switches N/C when not activated by bar, so when the bar retrieves the ball and it's sitting at the bottom waiting for start command the bottom switches are open, so I should adjust the two switches to close as soon as the bar starts to move up? The quicker the switches close the sooner the bar stops going up?
Thanks,
Rich

If its going too far up you need to adjust the top switches, not the bottom ones.

from what it sound like it doesn't seem like the bar's going all the way to the top limit switches. it sounds like when it dumps the ball to play and moves the bar up for you to start, it moves up higher than it should into the playfield and the ball goes down a hole.

Ah, I see what your saying. Its probably looking for the ball as it will whenever a game is started. There is a switch in the bottom that probably is not registering.
If the ball is on the bar when you start a game it will move the bar until the ball drops. The ball should close a switch in the bottom telling the game the ball is ready to play. If that switch doesnt make it will continue to cycle. Is it popping the solenoid too?

I thought it might be easier to diagnose what game is doing so I uploaded a video.

Still not sure this board is working 100%, but based on the vid that Todd at TNT has on youtube game does everything correct except for the bar problem.
Thanks,
Rich

Yes, those motors are moving extremely fast. That could be the problem, momentum is pulling the bar up farther after power is shut off to the motors.
The replacement motors I was selling are faster than the originals but not that fast. I use a 5w resistor to correct the motor speed. If you bought one of the first 6 sets of replacment motors from me it needs the resistors changed. These were sold about a year ago. If you bought these motors from me send me a pm and let me know what value resistor is on them.

true dat!

i'd hate to play the game at that speed. rename that one 'smokin crack!'

could it be a problem with the ratio of the motors or the drive circuits? that bar is moving about 2-3x faster then i've ever seen one move.

Game is fixed and works like a champ. Riptor figured it out, for whatever reason the combination of the motor and the 6.2 ohm resistor didn't run the motor at the speed it should. I tried a few higher value resistors, wound up adding 3 additional ohms to each motor and everything runs correct.
Thanks for all the help.
