Good morning,

I recently picked up an ICB from another member here. It was in fairly nice shape but I decided to do a full on restore on it. I have been picking up parts from other members here an there. The one part that was not that great was the yellow front plastic that goes on the playfield. No replacement is available.

Well I have a friend here in Ottawa that is working on a replacement piece. I saw the initial design and it is going to be awesome. I have seen his other work that he has done on pinball parts and it is amazing. His name is Flashinstinct. You can find him over on Pinside.

Anyways, IF this is feasible he is going to get some made and offer them for sale. He wants to gage the interest to see If it is worth it or not to go ahead. Any other ICB owners want in?

Cheers, Mike.

No fair, why are all the cool collectors in Ottawa? Guy, you know the rules....pics or it didn't happen.

From the pinside post yesterday, flash hoped to be around $40 for the replacement. He also sells 'shop out decals' for pinball machines (inspection and warning decals that came from the factory but are usually scrapped/torn/worn/missing on used machines). Buy both and save on shipping.

I'd be interested if he could do one up in white as well for a Zeke's peak. I know there's probably more logistics than just spraying it a different color, but just had to throw it out there.

It is true

Alright folks. I took 3 days to get up in running on klov. Hereès an update to Mike's original post. As of yesterday I have found the right plastic, color, thickness. I have also found the person that will do the CNC rounting and the person who will silkscreen the entire job. Awaiting the quotes on Monday.

Test piece will be sent to Mike so we make sure that the fit is 100% accurate. Mike's original plastic was scanned in measured and reproduced in Illustrator as a vector. I have attached a low res version of the repro. Color matching is the last thing left to do and will be done at the silkscreening stage.

Zeke's Peak folks... I need to know if the measurements of the plastic are identical to the Ice Cold Beer one. If that is the case then I don't see why I can't make a limited run of those as well.

The plastic used is expensive and not of a common thickness. It took 4 hours just to find a acrylic supplier that had some in stock.

Guy...you are the man. It looks amazing. Spot on.
Once I get the test piece I will post photos here for everyone to see.
Cheers, Mike.

Thanks

Silkscreening costs approved. Zeke's Peak will be more expensive than ICB since I will do less units. Silkscreener has to clean the screen and apply white. Gotta pay the man I guess.

If you're taking counts, I'll revise my total from 2 ICB and 1 ZP. I like to have backups of parts that may see wear & tear, so please make mine 4 ICB and 2 ZP.

Thanks,
Greg

Quick update. The plastic shipped out today. CNC routing and printing scheduled for end of next week if everything goes well.
