Ice Cold beer for $100, should I jump on it?

Yes! Buy it!
I thought i did pretty good at 225 on mine. There were 6 other people trying to get in on the action between the time i called and the time i picked it up. I think it's a function of living in the midwest though. I don't think nearly as many games made it here.

Just now reading this post and you need to check with PayPal.

I had sent the seller an email within a few minutes of it hitting CL here in town. Told him I could get any time, but preferred early.

He gave me a phone number and I got a meeting time and we did the deal this morning.

The guy made no mention of anyone else being interested, but he was pre-occupied with running his business and there was little to no small talk.

Sorry for tossing a monkey-wrench into your plans, but in the past there have been no other collectors in the area so I have not had to worry about a seller doing funny business.

Let me know what the guy says if you contact him. He's got other games that I'd like to make an offer on, but not if he intentionally sold the ICB to several people to cover his bets in case the other buyers earlier in the day didn't show.

Yeah, I got the refund earlier, though I'm still pissed about it. The rest of this message has been edited now that I've calmed down.

Yeah, I got the refund earlier, though I'm still pissed about it. Didn't you buy the other ICB for $90 also? No offense man, but damn, give someone else the chance to buy something and get a good deal for a change, especially if you already own one. Some of us might like to own something like this too, ya know. I don't believe in this BS idea of "You snooze you lose". Sitting there hitting refresh on Craiglist all damn day is a BS way to get stuff.

Speaking of which, are you also the same guy who screwed me out of the Galaga 3 I had been negotiating for over a week for, showing up at the guys house in Gulf Breeze at 11PM the day before the sale? Or the guy who snatched up the DK cab right while I was on my way to grab it, then had the nerve to try to sell me the other two crap games the lady was selling for twice what you paid for them? Cuz if you are...buddy you just made a new worst enemy.

I hate people who camp CL constantly, screwing anyone else out of a good deal. Seriously.

Your lesson: buy first, forum post afterwards. Happens all the time, and if you can't hack that, you're liable to be pretty unhappy with this hobby.

GameGuy should absolutely not feel like he has done something wrong. He didn't.

JustInCaseGamer should have gone to get it right away. Just in case.

Then he could be GameGuy.

Not all of us camp Craigslist. I receive emails as soon as anything arcade is listed. It's what everyone else is doing so you can join the others or miss out on a lot of stuff. If you don't have some kind of setup for Craigslist as an arcade collector I feel like you shouldn't even check it things go so fast.

I can appreciate where you guys are coming from, but this has been the case recently where I've worked out a deal, even paid for the game ahead of time, and someone else comes in and snatches it up. I can't blame him for seeing the same good deal and jumping on it, or blame him for shady sellers trying to collect money twice over. That's not his fault, I agree.

Not me on the other stuff, including the camping on CL. I just happened to be looking at the right time on this one. The one in Pensacola sat for six days before I saw it, then I waited another day before calling about it.

I hate that you are mad and that things worked out like they did, but I wanted to put out what happened on my end instead of you thinking I tried to do something dirty or sneaking around to hose up your deal and buy it out from under you.

Anyhow, it was a normal deal like any other for me until I read this thread.

Lesson learned. As much as I dont believe in flipping or buying just cause its cheap, you have no one to blame but yourself here. At $90 Im surprised it lasted more than a few minutes. Its gotten to the point where I dont even check craigslist cause every good deal is long gone before I even see it.

I need to get me some of that.

I knew the outcome of this thread before I made it through page 1...
I was scratching my head wondering why he wasn't in his truck on his way to pickup instead of screwing around posting on klov...
My question was answered by page 3 without any surprises.
I'm more surprised the original poster thought at $100 that either of these would last more than a few hours.

The FIRST lesson of collecting arcades... If its cheap, go go go!!! Ask questions, wait for deals an negotiations later. If its a good deal, GO, don't tell other people about it, don't sit at home thinking about it! There is a dozen other guys at any time trying to pickup the same classic titles at the killer price! In the time your thinking about to be or not to be there are other guys shooting emails and higher offers in. Unfortunately with such limited supplies of good games at nice prices its a madhouse frenzy.

Sorry to read you didn't get either of the $100 ICB's but not surprised in the least bit. Don't listen to the seller or wait for a nicer day or something that works better for your schedule, the seller likely will not hold and the game most likely goes into another collection.

good to see you Karl.

Have to agree I was thinking the same thing. Although I will say I have been lucky and for some reason been able to convince numerous CL sellers to actually hold games for me on multiple occasions.

To the above posts about if you don't have a craigslist ap don't bother...

Hmm, I've never used a CL ap and don't hover craigslist but still manage to stumble on all sorts of cool stuff, even days after its posted. Alot of the stuff I get is a few days old on CL and people flaked on pickup or the response was minimal because it was listed for too much.

In my original email if I'm dead serious about getting something I say I'll take it, cash in hand, truck ready to roll just need a yes and an address, and what is the earliest at the sellers convenience we can meet. That will get you more games than hovering all day on craigslist not ready to roll at a moments notice.

I think thats the key to getting the "good deals", have your truck ready to haul at any time and if you do see an ad for something you want you'd better be set to leave work or drop what you're doing when the seller wants you there.

I hate to say it but here it goes...

I'm appalled that someone would have to goto klov and ask if $100 for an ICB is a good deal and/or if they should get it, then sit there and be upset because everyone else was getting in their trucks to make the pickup.

It should have been yours when you had contact w/ the seller and got his info.

Why wait a few days for pickup based on the sellers word?

Sorry to sound so harsh, but you gotta realize that when the guy is getting dozens of emails he doesn't want to wait a few days for someone who may or may not show up.
I understand the paypal deposit and that sucks cock that he didn't honor it, but in arcadeland its first come first served and until I understood that I was a frustrated collector who couldn't understand how I never got the deals.

I'd grab that all day long..

If it has a flakey issue check every microswitch that might be loose or misadjusted. If you need new belts you can use vacuum hose from an auto parts store.
