Working a project Ice Cold Beer. Rebuilt power supply and found a reverse wired big cap. Also 12VDC unregulated was reversed to the main board. Also I replaced one of the large bridge rectifiers.

Game boots. Goes into attract mode with display reading zeros and the star lamp illuminated. Some holes have no lamps on. Hole 9 and 10 weakly blink on and off.

Game will enter diagnostics. Tests 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pass with only hole 3 and 10 switches failing. I didn't do tests 7 through 11, but test 12 does have the alternating sound outputs differing in intensity which I guess as test passed.

I don't have a game ball so I tried holding the ball gate switch with no improvement.

What does it take to get the game to start? Do I have to go through the other tests with an O scope?

TIA,

Barry

Does it add a credit, either with the coin switch or the credit switch on the test switch bracket inside the coin door? I assume you checked the start button for function, as well as good wiring back to the board? Are dip switches set to the proper credits per game (maybe set for 2 credits and you only have one)?

I know it won't let you start a game until it knows where the ball is. That should be the switch at the hole on bottom behind the metal swing plate.

I just fixed one of these on Tuesday, but it didn't have your issue...

I have the dip switch set for one credit per coin. It is confusing as the coin switches, the free credit switch, the start switch, the ball hole switches (most of them) including the ball home switch, joy sticks all work under the diagnostic test program.

This verifies that the board to playfield switches, coin door and control panel wiring is good as well as the CPU board functionality associated with the tests. Wonder why it will not add a credit.

Thank you for your response.

Barry
