I installed a iCade and it looks like the resolution isn't compatible? It is about 2-3 inches off of the screen at the top and I can only adjust it down to 1 inch off. I replaced with a known working LCD for iCade and it works. What is different or not compatible about this other LCD?

First do a auto config... if that doesn't fix it... Go into your monitor settings and adjust your phase...that will widen it up...

I wonder if maybe the game is using a reduced blanking zone since it sees an LCD, but the LCD sync circuitry can't handle that properly. How does the game and monitor connect? HD15 or just 5-pin?

The suspect LCD synced correctly, right? No drifting pixels? In that case, I'd hang on to it and use it for something else. Inspect the driver boards if you'd like, but there's probably nothing wrong with it and it's just an oddball game/monitor interaction.

connected by 15pin VGA. I now have 2 out of 4 monitors doing this??? I'm stumped.

The proper term is HD15 ;) it complicates things slightly because the HD15 connection has the added feature of allowing the video source (in this case, your iCade computer) to identify the monitor connected and its capabilities, and a LOT of newer games will use this to detect what resolution it should run at. So it's very likely that each monitor is getting a different signal. You could try booting the machine with a "working" monitor in it, then hot swapping the video connector to each monitor. If the problem is gone, that's what's happening. (The detection generally only happens as the computer boots.)

Also, if the monitor has an "overscan" setting, try adjusting it DOWN. -1 or -2 should work nicely if the game is reducing blanking in response to an LCD being present.
