KLOV pinball league STARTS FRIDAY 09/30

Anyone interested in playing in a KLOV pinball league? Is there enough people here? Probably structure it similar to pinzach's league on RGP (http://www.pinzach.com/rules.htm). Thinking quarterly with a couple of throwout weeks or something. I hope he'd be cool if we used his medians.

Any interest?

Cool I am in for sure then! I know Ixtlann will be too! I will subscribe now and keep checking back but this sounds like alot of fun if you can make it work!

For those that are asking, you'll be playing based on the percentage of the median score that you get on any one machine. So let's say you choose to play monopoly during the first week. Lets say the median score on monopoly is 10M. You score 15M. Your score for that week is 150%.

We will go off the medians established by rgpl, and maybe average our own in over time.

Happy for you guys to use my medians and other data. There's some more info on the league blog I kept at...

If you want to open it up wide, you should post on RGP on USENET/google groups (I know you are already there, Gibbous). There are always tons of guys who want me to start back up. I'm sure they'd be happy to play in your league.

My new MAME info is at

I'd be in for sure! Although Saturday night is usually a drinking night, so my scores might suck pretty hard (that's what she said!) :)

Ahh, blessings from the man himself. Thank you so much! The only reason I wasn't considering posting on RGP was in case you wanted to pick it back up there. Maybe I'll do small run of six weeks here and see how it goes, then expand.

this sounds interesting. i might be down like a clown, charlie b-b-b-bbrown...****

so does it matter what machines we have? or how many? and do you play the same one every week? or do you have to rotate?

what kind of rules are we looking at? i'm not a great player, but i don't mind posting my craptacular scores. are we using the honor system? or are we going to upload pics of the score?

****rep pts for the first one to snag the reference...no googling, ya dirty sheep ****ers.

Okay. I think this is a GO. Look for a posting tomorrow or early Friday asking you to submit your scores. I will link to it from this thread. Please go and look over the rules and FAQ. We'll go for like eight weeks.

http://www.pinzach.com/rules.htm

And the list of qualified pins and medians. You'll want to shoot for these scores. Please submit scores if you want to get a pin you have qualified for play.

http://www.pinzach.com/qualify.htm

A couple of highlights from the rules:

- You are submitting TWO scores (same machine or two different machines). The better of the two will be used for score, the lesser will be used for medians.

- You need to decide/declare ahead of time that you are playing your league games and then live or die with the scores. Just as if you were in a tournament in-person.

- Your game should be set-up as close to factory as possible. THREE (3) balls, factory rules, factory post set-up, etc. Obviously you have less control over this if you are not playing your own machine. It should be set so there are no Extra Balls awarded for scoring thresholds, just set it to "Replay". Extra balls earned from playfield shots/ruleset are okay.

- Everyone is encouraged to join in. KLOVers, RGPers, friends, families, dogs, cats, iguanas, etc. (no resus monkeys, though, they creep me out).

Any questions, let me know now. Scoring starts this weekend!

so when is the cutoff each week to submit scores? friday? or do we have the whole weekend?

to be honest, sundays are probably gonna be the best day for me.....though i may be able to play on another day.

You can submit your scores any time from Friday through Sunday. I'll start calculating on Monday.
