IC identification when the part number has been removed

FWIW, I hope you are right. Need to probe the part on the board then find a donor. Hopefully a bad board or a Vigilante (cuz the game sucks!)

Before swapping the part, first check supply pins at least, just to be sure.And check also orientation before soldering it, pin 1 has a dot circle on package.

I'd say caius is probably right about it being a KNA91H014... just by looking at the clusters of pins/traces, they seem to match (like pins 3-10, 48-50, etc). You should definitely verify others, like VCC/GND before swapping though.

close up of the chip that I've been talking about. I didnt get a chance to probe it, was working on the games in the second pic all day.
