Auctions (Other) ia arcade auction

What Tempest? The Star Wars was on the other side of the wall. It was too crowded for me to bother to stick around for it.

If anyone else remembers prices, I'll edit my above post.

I used to go to a website to see the results of the auction. http://coinop411.cu.ma but it appears to be gone. Does anybody know if he stopped recording the results or if the website moved to a new location?
He had to change URLs again. The new URL is https://coinop411.whf.bz/, he posted it in another thread here.

Mainly lurk here, but I can comment some prices I slightly remember. I didn't stick by the crowd too much and the mic kept cutting in and out for the auctioneer so I couldn't recall all the prices.

I believe the Star Wars went for around $1600, Gladiators Pinball around $2600, Tempest arcade 1up $300, outrun cabaret and crystal Castles in the $400 range and I believe the Dig Dug as well, I think I heard one of the karate champs go for under $200 maybe 190?

I might be off on the prices, like I said the auctioneers mic kept cutting in and out so unless you stood near him you couldn't keep track of the prices.

It's crazy what some machines go for at live events, compared to what a bare PCB can cost online. Is it because the number of folks willing to take a large cabinet is much more limited than those who just want to tinker with boards?

It definitely has something to do with it, even outside of auctions. I got my Twin Sega rally cab for $25 cause no one wanted to mess with it, and while the second player side is split in half, the parts alone would go for way more online if was planning on gutting it. And you'll constantly see really big pieces at the auction being passed on.

I think in combination with the size of the item its also what the crowd that shows up is interested in. The Crystal Castles shocked me because it was in immaculate shape, and I knew it was worth more than what it went for and could easily be flipped if your into that, but I don't like Crystal Castles, and I needed to conserve space for what I wanted, and so I didn't bid on it.

It also goes in the opposite direction a lot as well, because the Gladiators pinball was sitting on Facebook marketplace for about a month at $2000, and it sold at auction for $600 dollars more.

yipes!! video games went cheap. Glad I didn't bring anything to sell. If I would have went , I would have bought the missle command, dig dug, and crystal castles for those prices. I am surprised with such a low video game count that things went that cheap....................

Thank you!

Anyone going to go to the Auction this weekend on the 22nd?

I'm planning on going since it's only in hour drive from where I'm at.

No, I have not fixed the last one that I bought there. My garage is full, and I need to clean it out.

Out of the area or I'd try to fly out.

Unless the weather went into bizzaro land like it did on Sunday, when we had a sleet / heavy snow storm on March 16th. Driving was white knuckle.

I did.

I did.
I missed that. Will read it later on a real screen.

Take that stuff to the auction!
Win-win?

I wouldn't sell at that auction. Prices were low and it rarely has good games that would attract collectors. They also don't say what will be auctioned off ahead of time, which is another reason collectors (like me) don't make the drive (4 hours for me).
