Answer this question about a game you have seller's remorse for:

I wish I hadn't sold my (Game Name) because ...

Mine would be Zoo Keeper. I loved playing that game and I had some serious people with scores on it (and it had a high score save kit in it).

No special controls or anything, but I really like the orange cab and the whole art package. The person I sold it to, sold it again so I'll never get it back.

What's yours?

Mine would be Zoo Keeper.

How the hell did you sell that? Its the best game I own (though the monitor took a shit and I havent played it in a month *sadface*).

Mine is Marble Madness. I miss the shit out of that game *super sadface*

For me? Atari Road Runner. I've never seen another one. I loved the theme as I grew up on the 90 minute long Looney Tunes show they used to broadcast on Saturday mornings. I wish it would have had more of the characters in it though. Like a Bugs Bunny and Daffy Game, or a Bugs n Fudd hunting game, or Foghorn and the Chicken Hawk, Sly and Tweety, etc. I also miss my Tutankham.

Yeah - I ask myself the same question. The answer is Christmas and broke 2 years ago. Games come and go but no presents at Christmas blows worse. The MAME machine should play it well whenever I get to that project.

PS - I sold Reactor serial number 00002 to the same guy. That one I tracked to Delaware I think...

Tron cabaret... I was planning on moving cross-country and wasn't sure yet if my moving expenses were going to be covered by my company, so I sold all of my games except my Ms Pac cocktail. I only had 4 games at the time, and the Tron cabaret was the rarest of the bunch. I've since re-acquired the other games and now have a Tron upright, but that cabaret was in great shape.

Gyruss, I had too much going on and another KLOV"er really wanted one. I sold it and have regretted it ever since. I didn't realize how infrequent they pop up.

It's definitely in my top five favorite games. I love everything about it, soundtrack, gameplay, cabinet design.

Oh my heart hurts.

I wish I hadn't sold my...Black Knight 2000 because... It was in good condition, played great, had the ORIGINAL topper, adn loads of extras.

:(

I wish I hadn't sold my Demolition Derby UR because...it was a UR with 5K plays (and looked like it) and I'll never find another one.

I wish I hadn't sold my Bull Fight because...I'll never see another one again.

I wish I hadn't sold my Asteroids Deluxe upright. It was the 2nd arcade game I owned, I bought it way back in 1991. It was in near mint condition, had perfect interior and exterior art, and worked perfectly. I sold it to a high school friend after a few years as I hadn't been playing it much.

Recently, that high school friend found me on Facebook, and he still has the AD machine, it made the trip from Maryland to Texas when he moved there for a job.

Nice to know it's still purrin', but I'd really like to have an AD again someday...

Kyle

I haven't sold a damn thing yet, which is weird. If anything is going to go, it'll be S.T.U.N. Runner. Not as fun as I remember it being. . going to take some time to see if I really want to get rid of it though.

I wish I hadn't sold my...Heavy Barrel because...I love that game. It was in amazing condition and I had every replacement part I would ever need. The only thing that was needing work was the monitor (which this was my first arcade purchase and monitors scared the hell out of me). I sold it for a profit but wish I would have kept it. I hope to find another one but I don't know if I will find one in as good of shape in these parts of the woods.

A good way to think about this is: "would I buy it back now at the same price?" Given that criteria, I don't regret selling anything. Here are all the games I enjoyed for a few years, then sold:

  • Blackout (after I swapped in a new playfield!)
  • Black Hole
  • WhiteWater
  • No Good Gofers
  • Twilight Zone
  • Whirlwind
  • Stargate
  • Count-Down
  • OXO

I've never sold anything truly "rare", so I don't know what that feels like.
