looks clean tho...

i've actually not had good luck with washing things so i've stopped for the time being. i know it has a decent success rate but well this stuff is to valuable to me.

As you can see I didn't wash all of it off, the stuff I bought should be fairly easy to apply and since it is conductive I shouldn't have to remove the original, just paint over.

I've had this happen only with a Matsushita monitor so I've thought maybe it was a Japanese monitor thing. Every Wells and G07 I've washed with Simple Green and water haven't had this issue. The Matsushita that lost some dag still works though I thought about buying some dag paint back on the tube.

Wait, you can wash off monitors with the chassis still on them? Do you leave the anoide cap on so that water doesn't get in the tube?

This is crazy man!

I have a K7000 that is super dirty I was going to try a cap kit on, but man I'd love to clean it off first...

Heh, yes... I've seen several posts over the years about the water soluble/washable aquadag on Nintendo monitors. I've personally never had the desire to wash my monitor anyway, but I'm particularly careful about the aquadag on Nintendo monitors.

I'm not sure that I've ever seen anyone post a success story on repainting the aquadag, so be sure to let us know how it goes.

i literally watched it come off with a gentle spray of water... that's fubar

Not sure why I wouldn't be able to. That is what it is sold for.

and yet another reason why i dont wash monitors. Holy balls.

COmpressed air will get alot of the dust off guys, no it wont be factory clean but it also wont be all fucked up.

I usually use a 1"- 2" paint brush to clean all the dust off while holding a shop vac near to suck the dust up as I go. I hold the vac nozzle low and let the dust get sucked into the nozzle.

+1 to paintbrush and air compressor at a low psi

I only ever used windex sparingly on the backs of tubes. I would imagine that's probably just as dangerous so it's good I didn't fuck that up ever. :D

Same here. I NEVER wash a monitor, but I will remove the boards and wash them..... if warranted.

I'm glad no dogs were harmed in this incident and I learned a new word to impress my friends with.
