So I want to learn as much as I can about the different Dig Dug boards out there. I just got an Irish Dig Dug without the board and want to know which one went inside and what are the revisions. So far I have only found bits and pieces. is there a thread I do not see? Any help is appreciated :D

As Yoda would say...

"You must dig, Doug, for the answers you seek"

Of course he would only say that if your name was Doug.

Both styles of Atari PCB have the same pinout.

You don't want the Namco one with the Galaga pinout.

If I remember correctly both Atari versions contain the same circuitry they just have the parts at different locations. The game is run by not one but three z80 microprocessors. One of them handles the Sprites, another one handles the sound and the other one handles the background and the main program. I don't know how they all get along.

Loads of Atari Ireland games shipped with Namco board sets. If the original harness is still ones the cabinet check it.

Pole Positions with Namco board sets are quite coveted in Europe. They still have their problems but more reliable than the Atari ones!!

Looks like I need to be on the hunt for a Namco board? The harness looks original with only a modification for the Karate Champ board? The extra sticks for KC were daisy chained together and then run directly to the pinout through wires not bundles in the CP or main harness. How much should I expect to pay for a working Namco DD board? This game which was pronounced DOA is coming to life and I gotta say its exciting! to be a part of it :)
