Ok, I've down entire teardowns and such, but I've never gone the full nine yards and done the playfield replacement, cabinet repaint, every metal part tumbled, every square inch made to look as good (or better) than new, etc.. I figure it should be somewhat of an experience and I'm going to take my time to do it right. The game of choice? Funhouse.

I'm getting one of the new playfields from Illinois Pinball, so I'm saving myself the time of doing touchups and clearcoating and I just like the idea of it looking absolutely pristine. That part has been worked out, now I just need to find my project machine to work with. I've got a couple of leads, but one is a bit too expensive for what it is and the other I haven't heard back from for a few days (bad sign).

Anyway, if anybody out there has a junker Funhouse, let me know. In the mean time I'm going to be selling some stuff to make money and room to make this happen. I'm also planning on keeping a VERY detailed account of it all, so I'll share that info here.

Great choice, I want to do the complete opposite, I want to buy a MINT fully restored funhouse, with all the work already completed. haha...seriously though :)

Good luck on the restore, couldn't have picked a more classic game IMO. I will own one someday. It's the first machine I originally wanted to get when I started collecting pins. Just have to find a reallly nice one...
