I want Dr. Mario PCB!

I believe so. Maybe I am mistaken but... I am not looking for the red tent version or the playchoice versions. I am pretty sure they made a Dr. Mario standup. I saw one once, and found it listed under the site. I am unsure of the guts though. Anyone know for sure?

The only variations of this game are the Playchoice (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7632) and the Vs. Version. (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=10354

I THINK you might be after the playchoice version, but I really don't know much about Nintendo games... just trying to help... I'm sure one of the "Ninty Row" fanatics will chime in eventually. If you don't get your answer, post a question in the General Category asking about different versions of Dr. Mario.

Well after some digging it seems you are correct, and I am wrong. It seems I am after the playchoice version. It looks like I have some playchoice to jamma work to do. :) Well if it keeps my wife happy I may just have to do it. She does let me keep my arcade cabinets upstairs, and she did just let me spend some dough on controls and a pcb. Plus that game is pretty great. Thank you for everyone's help. If anyone has a playchoice unisystem board available let me know!

if it's stand alone then you are looking for a VS board... sometimes they jamma adapt them.
The playchoice is a bunch of games that play on a timer.

If you are looking for a Playchoice Dr Mario cart... I have one FS.

Man I have no idea what I am talking about I guess. This is a dilemna I suppose. A Vs. board would be kick ass, but the more I think about it having a playchoice system would be pretty cool. If I am going to make a dr. mario cab I might as well be able to play some super mario too! I will have to sleep on this idea. Plus that dr. mario vs. is hard to come by, but it seems the playchoice one's are a pretty easy find.

I was leaning in that direction. My wife won't let me get another cab though. She gave me that "are you fu**in serious look". I might soften her up tomorrow though.

That's funny, Dr. Mario is the only reason the wife lets me keep the Playchoice in the house. Just find a Nintendo game or two that the wife likes and it could improve your chances.

I vote Vs. system. Like others have said, PC-10 is just an NES on a timer. You might as well by an NES and a Dr. Mario cartridge as well as other NES games you'd like to play. As far as I know, there was no dedicated Dr. Mario arcade game. The only thing close to it would be a Vs. UniSystem (dedicated or conversion) that is setup with Dr. Mario and has a Dr. Mario marquee.

The Vs. system has games that have subtle and sometimes big differences from their NES counterparts. I'm not sure if Dr. Mario does, but you'd definitely have more variety and uniqueness going the Vs. route.

If you want to see Vs. games in action including a cab setup for Dr. Mario, go to johnsarcade.com. John has videos and explanations of many of the Vs. titles. It's a great resource and starting point for Nintendo arcade noobs.

Yes dude......as other hav said, go with the Vs. Vs cabs can usual be had pretty cheap (even more so if they're missing a board) and when the cab is wired up for Vs you can swap out different Vs pcbs. Vs Super Marios is very difficult and balloon fight is great!

I have a Vs Dr Mario daughter board I would trade for Vs Super Mario Bros. chips and the appropriate ppu and cpu chip. I also have the original docs, marque, instruction card etc. I am not looking to outright sell them though because then I'd have an empty unistsyem cab :)

So I am thinking of just building the cab. Dr. Mario style. What would you all suggest as the guts? It only needs to play dr. mario. I am not a big mame fan, cause I like the nostalgia of the real deal. But I am considering it. Since I could throw a couple more games in there. I also thought of putting a vs. unisystem board inside it.
