So you get some fairly powerfull lasers, green and red. Some beam splitters and those mirror servo thingys. Hook up MAME to the laser aiming thingys to draw the vector shapes. Set the thing up to play on a huge flat surface, like Hoover dam. have a big concert PA system with good bass so you feel the rumbling of the tank. Whos in? there has to be some rich geek on here with the equipment.

There used to be some machine gun nests and construction areas that would make for decent staging grounds for this, too. :]

During CES, Capcom projected Resident Evil 5 against the side of the Planet Hollywood hotel. Was a hell of an idea, but then it got too cold and everyone went inside to play games on regular sized screen. Here's some video from the event:

I'll bet you could take over a drive-in theater for a night, though.

A drive-in would be too small. maybe the side of a mountain that is near vertical. I have beam splitters and a 125mw green laser. the laser is not 100% duty cycle though. Interfacing the galvometers to the game would be hard.

About 5-10 years ago, someone had info on the net about this. They told how to do it, but I don't recall how feasable it was, or how detailed the instructions were. I do recall it said something bout using powerful lasers to project onto clouds above. A great way to play star wars if you ask me. And the best mountain to project on would probably be like stone mountain in GA. Its like a flat sheet from the movies I have seen it in. If any one recalls the web site I was talking about, I would love to read the material again.
