I'm curious how many KLOV peeps have vintage computers
I only need one expensive hobby thanks... Lol
I have both of the first 2 computers I ever got... a 2nd release TRS-80 COLOR COMPUTER as well as a TRS-80 COLOR COMPUTER 2. I also have the cassette tape drives and a 5¼ floppy drive and the color ink jet printer that was available too. I had also bought a 19" RGB monitor circa 1985. Can't remember the make/model right now, but it was bought with birthday money and savings from an ad from an advertiser in the back of the HotCoCo magazine iirc. The order was placed via a phone call made from a land line telephone back in the days when there were only BBSs, slow ass dial up modems, and no internet as we know it today.

But the best part of having this stuff is that I have a ZAXXON game cartridge that works on both of them!

I recycled my Apple //e unfortunately. Long before I learned of KLOV.
Ah... thank you for the humbling spank... you are correct I believe. I think the CoCo had composite output and did use the little RCA to 75ohm coax switch box... aka early atari console type input. However, I do remember the monitor having rgb input also.... I will confirm that once I get to clearing out the attic...I would love to see your 19" RGB Coco some time! I didn't know the Coco 2 could do RGB. Is it modded? Or is it actually a Coco 3?
I have a CM-8 monitor that I got a couple of years ago for my original new-release Coco 3. And I still have my Coco 2. My first computer. Both are setup up in the living room right now.
Zaxxon is actually GOOD on the Coco. Legit good! (But only on the Coco....)
32 KB of screeching cassette hell which usually failed to load at the 31 KB mark.
Was it really available on cartridge? I have the cassette and disk versions.
But one thing I do know for sure is that there is a speech cartridge up in one of them boxes that does have.....
Wait for it.......
An obsolete SC-01 speech chip... that chip is going to find it's twilight years spent installed on my bootleg q-bert board to give him a voice.
Thanks for keeping me honest and "less" full of shit!
Dylan
Well, I did get one of Scott's reproduction sc-01 chips... so, if that works ok... the cartridge is safe... but still not for sale...NOOOOOOOOOO!
Don't a mutilate one classic to repair another one!
Ps. I want that cartridge to replace my lost one!

(Hanging head in shame)

If I didn't already have a thrid of my house full of arcade games I prob would go crazy with retro computers. The Atari ST is my childhood one, the first major anything I bought with my own money I think. I love those little DOS machines!Does this count? Nice little machine for dos and light windows 98 gaming. I have other 90's rigs but this one is by far my favorite that's why I keep it on my main desk. What about you are you a collector of more specialized systems like that Atari 4160 or like amiga?
That seems to be a common issue around hereIf I didn't already have a thrid of my house full of arcade games I prob would go crazy with retro computers. The Atari ST is my childhood one, the first major anything I bought with my own money I think. I love those little DOS machines!
