What did I miss?

Agreed, at first (when reviewing the other warehouse thread) I thought someone had made side-art from the DD poster ... but they are different.

Atari had side art for a lot of their cabarets. Unfortunately, they weren't installed by default. From my understanding, the op had to mail a post card or something back after receiving the game to get the side art.

Nice looking Dig Dug cabaret, too bad there isn't much love for them.

someone really needs to get that side art scanned.

Did you check with Scott Evans to see if he's got the original films?

Holy shit that's awesome. Do you have a link to where this was posted? Somebody needs to scan that ASAP.

Yep, I'll echo what like 5 people have already said. That needs to be scanned. My dig dug cabaret needs that. Like it just called me on my cell phone at work and pointed me to this thread saying Christmas is around the corner.

I seem to recall a thread where it was stated that Scott did not have the films, but I don't remember if Scott made the statement himself.

If that DD was close to Utah, I would have tried my best to be the first guy there with the $550. Good Luck RoadRunner! Let me be the first to say I am in when the repro gets made.

That truly is an amazing find!!! There hasn't been a photo posted anywhere with an original DD cabaret decal. The only reference available had been the mail in post card. This is probably the only one DD cabaret with the side art applied. That's like 1 in one million, um I ment 1 in 400...lol Wow!

You know it wouldn't take too much more work to make a vector replica off of the photo. Of course a scan would be the best to work with, but I don't think I'm too far off to update this...

and adjust to this (perspective corrected photo)...

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help this project. Again, what a great find!

Looks just like the postcard:

That's what made me jump when I saw it. If this turns out to be legit, I would put this down as a major find.

I know Dig Dug is a B list game for most, but I have a soft spot in my heart for it.

RoadRunner, you better be driving right now. :)
