Went out for donuts this morning and came back with a Commando. I couldn't pass it up for $50 and only a couple of miles away. It works. Looks to be original, but I am not familiar with this machine. The usual particle board damage on the bottom. Side art is ok. Control panel is ok. Marquee looks good. Bezel, not bad. Monitor is good. I'm sure it could use a cap. Coin door, passable with new locks. The board? The guy said it just has an eprom that needs to be reseated occasionally. Hmmmm, we'll see. If that is the case, what would cause it to go out once you have reseated it?

I don't remember ever playing it, although I believe I have probably played some of its predecessors. In 1985 it was a little past my time. Is it any good? Is it worth restoring?

Nice cab. Fun game, especially for good shoot em up action. Data East produced this as a kit game to be installed in a generic vertical upright (think: Centipede).

Data East was building cabinets at the time, and they did outfit some of their own cabinets with this kit. Looks like you got one of those.

Nice pickup!

Thanks for the input. I think I'll keep it. At first I thought it was a fighter, but was happy to see that is is more of a shoot em game.

Not a bad game. I have seen the C64 version completed without shooting a single bullet!

Haha, I was playing "Pacifist Commando" the other night. I only made it to the end of level 2!

Awesome game. I loved it as a kid, and even better now that I can at least get to level 5!
Great deal at $50!

souzilla also did a HS kit for Commando, which I own and like.
