I think this should add in 1,000 ways to DIE. SHOCK-CADE!

Damn I had experience a brief shock with beautiful lighting in my face toward the monitor frame on my pinkie finger while discharging the monitor.

1. I think its because I attached aligator clamp to monitor frame and discharge different monitor.

2. My pinkie finger is about 1 inch away from the frame which I could see the lighting sparks.

See picture attached. Sorry my drawing is not great but o well!.

Any response to this thread would help others to avoid the shock experience.

Im grateful that the shock line goes to my pinkie back to frame instead through out my body to another hand to the metal.. something like that!.. What i learn in past is. alway keep one hand off anything and use sneaker....

even KEYS shouldnt be in your pocket while doing the discharging.....

Yah, the clip has to connected same ground of the monitor you are discharging!

You know I'm just waiting to get shocked myself. I'm getting way too comfortable discharging and handling monitors. I discharge monitors like it's nothing. I know that's when you start doing things like connecting the aligator clip to one frame, and then discharging another tube.

Good information for all to know that's a nono. And yes its a good thing the shortest path was your pinky to the frame and not your other hand holding onto another piece of metal! Glad you're alright bro let's try and play safe now lol

Everything and everybody is your teacher =)

Yes Im like I cant tell this to wife cuz wife kept saying u shouldnt mess around with monitor. I am like come on I ve discharge over 30 monitors already and last night it hit me off and Im very happy that it was only my pinkie! and OUCH! lol.. I still figuring how to say to wife otherwise she will shutdown my garage lol!

It's always good to learn from someone else's mistakes. JK, good to see you didn't seriously injure yourself.
