I Think My Son Will Actually Carry On My Arcade Legacy

Thanks, but actually I think you mean Skinny Angry Guy. This was later in the photo shoot:

That was after several minutes of trying to hold a pose and a slight smile while my wife tried 800 different settings on the camera. I just look pissed! LOLROTFLMAOSMOC

My kid is okay with the arcade but she much prefers DSI and Wii.

They are making a lot of great games these days.

The classic games will always have a place, because that's where it all started.

Great pic, that little duder looks very happy and proud to be hangin with his dad in the arcade!

My 5 yr girl likes Arkanoid a lot (sounds like a lot of kids out there do), and is actually better than a few of my friends. But she is the first one to blow my cover when I bring a new game home. If she sees it she will run to my wife and tell her that dad brought another game home!
I can't wait for my new little guy (2 months old) to get into the games. Got to teach these kids some roots!

Great picture.

Good thing about boys is they only think Dad is stupid for a short period, and realize pretty quickly they lived with a hero. College, kids and being flat broke tend to wake a guy up. It did for me, anyway. Didn't take much thinking to realize how much of my teen years were wasted arguing with my old man :(

My three boys are gamers and two of them are into physical sports (TKD), the other is a golfer, all love to read. What more can I ask, really?

All three prefer Star Wars or 1943. They are "meh" about most of the other games/pin and go crazy for any FPS on the 360. The Wii is a passing fad for them. Doesn't hold their attention (nor mine). They're all looking forward to playing the Race Drivin' cockpit, but I'm concerned their feet won't reach. We'll see.

My 6 and 8 year olds are NUTSO for Plants vs. Zombies. If that were an arcade game, they'd play 'till they couldn't stand.

My little guy (19 months) loves the games...he already well knows the MAME start up screen and will get very upset if I bring it up and he sees it and then I don't immediately put him on my lap to play/watch whichever classic I fire up.

He also particularly loves the pins...we have a little step-stool that, as soon as I bring it out from its storage location, he immediately stops whatever he is doing and heads straight for the pinball machines at his top speed :) .

For now, I just play around him while he watches...he tries to stretch to reach the flipper buttons, but he still isn't big enough just yet to do so (both of my pins are wide bodies).

It's also a GREAT way to calm him down when he's upset...every parent should have one! :D

Not to guyjack this thread, but I have a semi recent pic of my two year old throwing down on the Red Tent. He loves that thing. I wont post the pic though. I dont want to steal anyone's thunder.

If by 'Thunder' you mean 'virginity', too late. LMAOB!!! Post away my friend.

Hopefully he carries on my arcade legacy w/ his brother...

My daughter (8) thinks the cabs are pretty cool. As do most if her friends that come calling. She doesn't play too much as Missile Command is a bit tough for an 8 year old. She was very excited when I announced that we were getting another cab, but doesn't play that too much either. Maybe I shouldn't have gone for the Defender as that's still too tough ....

Ah well, maybe something a little easier next time. Maybe not ...

I think for your daughter, games like mr Do!, qbert, Pengo, centipede, puzzle bobble, tetris or ms pac might do the trick?

Tom
