I think I'm gonna cap my Vs Dualsystem monitors this weekend

Thanks. The old cap was shiny and nice looking and the number was hidden under a resistor. I must have missed it on my once over when I was done.

Do a twice over and mark the tops of the caps with a sharpie and cross them off the cap list after verifying the values and polarity. That way you don't need to rely on if it looks new or not. It's incredibly easy to miss a cap, put a cap in backwards, or use the wrong value. E.g. a 22uf can look a lot like 2.2uf and vice-versa.

I'll probably do this next weekend, that sounds a lot easier than stretching both my arms, peeking in a mirror and hoping I don't get shocked. I gotta put in that one cap I accidentally missed on the left monitor too.

cool, that is the best way.

you can see it 1-1 and have all the access you need on the adjustments.

i do that for all my games and when i go to repair party's.

Peace
Buffett

Would I have to adjust it to whatever circuit board is in it? I had my Vs Super Mario Bros board hooked up tonight and the screen was a tad jumpy and bright. It's stable with Crime Fighters in it.

I just noticed the inverter boards have their own adjustment pots, I haven't yet but should I mess with them at all? I know I can bypass them once I put my Vs pcb in there permanently, I need them for crime fighters to look right. Will I have to adjust the monitors again when I make the swap?

The left one still looks blurred no matter what I do and it has the slight yellow edge on the white, what gives?

it kind of looks like the red is too high for one maybe the brightness. your right monitor looks like green is alittle high too.

They look good enough tbh I'd say its a job well done what I've learned is perfection is near impossible with old stuff I'd be happy they work well.

That's what I was thinking, especially since I had to pull the chassis to replace that one cap. It's not quite as bright as the picture makes it look and I'm almost tired of foolin with it. It definitely looks way better than when I started.

I'm going wait and see if Buffett has some magic advice and then put it back together and play the hell outta it.

good enough Imo don't mess with it.

I ended up having to fiddle with the pots on the inverter boards to make that bleeding go away but I'm done messing with it. It looks way better than before the cap kits and I'm happy with it

NICE finally you quit driving yourself crazy. They look really good so good job ;)

Thanks :)

The right side has a slight green bleed and is a tad brighter but I can live with it. At least until I find another ppu then I'll adjust it again with vs games in it

next time you have them out for adjustment, be sure to degauss them before you start.

that little bit can throw off the adjustment process.

i noticed it on the right monitor in your video.

what i do is center the 3 pots on the inverter board.

they should not ever need to be adjusted if the tube is good and has a full range of color adjustment with the pots on the neck board.

they are looking way better than before.

if you need them adjusted, your welcome to fund my out there to do it in person:)

Peace
Buffett

I asked Santa for a degaussing coil, hopefully I can be good for another three months. Until then I did my best with my drill, it helped a little bit.

It looks great with crime fighters in it but with the vs board it's kinda bright and a little jumpy. Would that go away when I bypass the inverter board or should I readjust it? I'll have Tetris for the left side on Tuesday.

if you use the VS board you should never use the inverter board.

run the video straight to the monitor on ANY Nintendo game.

you may have to adjust the V-Hold when swapping PCB's

do you have another VS game or other, running on the other monitor?

they will do that if you don't have the other side of the VS board populated without a game running on the other monitor.

this is a common issue in a red tent where the monitors are so close together
and the other monitor does not work.

i am not sure if it still does it if you have a JAMMA or other game running on the other side.
i am not willing to hack up my red tents to find out.

Peace
Buffett
