i think i just got burned on ebay

there's no burn there - when someone allows you to pick it up in person, it's a good thing. Now, if you hastily bid and THEN saw something in the picture that is not right, that's on you. Seller looks just fine. 99.6% at 700+ feedbacks - looks fine to me.

yea your right i didnt go over the pictures close enough.but the ad said works good with good picture. when i got home i took another look and noticed the anode cup looks like they just ripped it out of the hole.

i have a used 4900 flyback in the FS section for $15 shipped if you need it, or you can just buy a new one from arcadecup.

Yeah the anode cup isn't molded to the wire...the wire just sits in there with the clip attached, and its possible that when its unhooked the wire sometimes pushes out a little (anode cup slides up the wire). Perfectly normal and no big deal. $29 for a working 4900 is a decent deal...they may be old but most of the 4900s I worked on had an excellent picture.

I'd just take a $1 paint brush and some compressed air and clean up the HV side that looks a little dirty, again normal since the static attracts the dust to that side.

cant tell from the pic on the anode.

the only thing that looks wrong is one of the bias adjustment pots knob is broken off. But that does not mean it will not work..

flyback looks fine you can push the connector down that's no big deal the fuse looks like it's missing though. Maybe I just didn't see it. Alsothe neck board dial is missing off the side. Should work without the white turning piece though. I think you're OK as long as the fuse is there. Just dirty.

Actually, if it is missing....that's a gift in that you need to put a proper fuse holder on there anyway. That damn sleeve they put on is ridiculous.
