I should've thought this through...

Best long term but cheapest fix is to put a trailer hitch on your car. That way, you know every time you need to haul it's only 15-20 bucks to rent a trailer.

If not a pick-up, then at the very least, a large hatchback or mini van should be your next vehicle.

I think the trailer hitch is probably the best idea. I thought about buying a pickup, but I only need it to haul games, which is less than 10 times a year. It is way cheaper for me to just rent a trailer. I would suggest getting an SUV or something for your next vehicle...it is nice to have the ability to haul a single game without renting a trailer.

I went to the Toyota lot to look at Trucks a year or 2 ago and I was shocked. They get terrible mileage just like the American trucks now. I borrowed a friend's 2001 Tundra before that, and it got 22 mpg...the new $50,000 ones only got 13. I just couldn't think of any way to justify the expense for a game hauler.

I'm not putting a trailer hitch on my car. It's already smoking coolant. I'm not wasting money on that scrapheap.

He must have won the games from lostwonders auction or the one in Kenosha.
I asked the guy before I even thought about bidding if he delivered. He hurt his back and said he was unable to do so.

Yep, lostwonders, the Gunbird specifically. I went back and forth with the seller on the problem and it sounds to me there's very little chance there's a problem with the board or monitor -- most likely an AC wiring issue. I felt a probably-working Gunbird PCB and K7000 monitor was worth $100 by itself.

Unless someone recognizes it as worth restoring, it's gonna be my JAMMA mule. I intend to trade out the K7000 for something tri-sync and make a USB input board that plugs right into the JAMMA slot so I can easily switch it between MAME and real games.

I have this problem too...I know friends with trucks but they're never around when I need them :( and there's no way i'm putting a hitch on my RX-8 lol

No kidding... my next car is going to be an I4 sport compact of some description so I'm not putting a hitch on that either. I intend to eventually have two vehicles, the sport compact and some kind of pickup, but I don't have the income for that yet.

Go to a car dealership, feign interest in a new pickup truck, and when they ask ya if you'd like to "live with it" for a night, jump on it!

I'm guessing your friend had a Tacoma to get 22mpg:

All full size trucks get relatively crappy mileage. They are 5000+ lbs and either a v6 or v8 behind them, and the fact it's American or Japanese doesn't matter. The best mileage for a full size truck right now is the new F150 with the Ecoboost, which claims 22mpg on the highway.

That being said, I have a 2000 F150 I drove off the lot new that now has 197K miles on the clock, and I average around 14mpg, and gotten up to 18 on the highway. It's paid for and starts everyday, and makes hauling games easy, but it's not for everyone.

my 97 Blazer gets pretty good MPG for what it is...I went to DC and back on about $160 in gas at $3.60+ per gallon and it's a 6 hour drive...pulling an empty trailer up there and fully loaded back....uhaul was $40...so about $200 and 14+ hours of driving...2 hours of sitting on I-95...i figured it up to get about 17 mpg in the big hog lol...not bad considering all the variables.

I can fit one game in the back of my '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee. But I also have the tow package so I can haul a trailer when needed.
