I saw a game in a garage

Sure, as long as you phrase it with something like "I happened to notice while stopped at a light and your garage was open" it'll sound innocent enough and not like you were spying. If you include the idea of anonymous assistance with "if you need help getting it fixed, go to KLOV.com and there's a million collectors there who can walk you through getting it to work" it'll sound helpful too, if he just wants to get rid of it and you don't sound like you were on the prowl he'll be more likely to get back to you and you can direct him to another collector.

Give it a month or two, and if you never hear from him put in another note, beyond that I'd take the hint and leave it be, be sure to include an email as some people feel more comfortable responding in text rather than actually talking to a stranger. If you're pushy at all forget about it, but if you come across just as someone with a passion for the hobby who stumbled upon their game by chance you're much more likely to get a good response.

Just want to say I agree with this entire line of thought.

Make up a fake flyer like the one that the pickers use and leave one at his door/stick one in his mailbox. :)

I happened to be sitting in traffic in front of this house today on my way home but the garage door was closed.

Xevious is "kind of" a fun game? Man, that's one game I can always play for long the gameplay intensity varies nicely, as does the landscape. The soundtrack is one of the best, I think. Great cab, great game and I desperately want one for my collection.
