Have a coworker that has an I robot he is looking to get rid of. I have not seen the game, he says it is in great shape and plays blind. Whats the ballpark value on this?

Doesn't matter, unless you're planning on flipping it. Offer him 1 dollar and start working up from there. You'll probably land somewhere around $300, my guess.

About 6 months ago one closed on Ebay for around $1500. I've never seen one go for $2K, but that's just me. I would value a nice one at between $1300-$1900 all depending on if you can find the "right buyer" for it. Non-working one? That's a pretty rare PCB, so it may be costly to fix and you're not going to just find one laying around.

It's a rare game that will command a value, but it's not a Vector and it doesn't have that "gotta have" factor for a lot of people from what I've seen.

No way you're going to get $2500-$3K, the last fully working dedicated Major Havoc that was on Ebay only hit $3K, and it's way more sought after than an iRobot.

Of course, this is just my humble opinion :)

Oh, and here's another list that is somewhat in line with my valuation:

Well for sure, i cannot see anyone paying 2-3 thousand for a game. Even if its the first 3d game evar'.

I what i think it is worth would be only what one would want to pay. Id pay about $500 or lower. :D

$800 in terrible shape, up to $1800 in great shape (with a working monitor).

Your co-worker can fend off the low-ballers with confidence on this one.

No guess on the value, but get the monitor fixed before he sells it. Whatever he spends he will get back on the sale. Especially if it's an original disco.

It has to be fully working to get top dollar.

I sold mine for $2500

and a second one for $1900.

The first in 2007 and second in 2008.

games like that hold value pretty well as they are rare. Condition is always important.

Been on vacation a couple of weeks and havent talked to the guy until today. Turns out that someone came over to look at it and bought all the parts except the cab for $400. He told my friend that he didnt need the cab because the game he was rebuilding had a nice cab. He said to just take an axe to it and throw it away!! Later that night the buyer called back and said he felt bad that the cab was going out for garbage and paid another $100 for the cab. Wish he would have talked to me before doing this as I would rather have someone here end up with it.

"felt bad that the cab was going out for garbage and paid another $100 for the cab"

probably means.......

the buyer is hoping to find another unsuspecting person to sell him $1000+ worth of parts for $400.

I feel your pain man...he probaly could have gotten a better deal.
We'll have to keep an eye out and see if this one pops up locally on eBay.

Popular pinballs hit $3000-4000 all the time. I don't see what people have to keep trying to lowball rarity in this hobby. AS demand increases, the game value increases. It is a very tough game to find and the parts are hard to get also.

If you would only pay $500 or lower and you could get $1500-2000 for it if you paid $700 I think you would change your tune a little.

BS!

I'm not in it for the cash. I'm in it for the hunt. It's a sense of pride and accomplishment when you wildly end up landing on a great game if it's bulk or one by one. If I payed cash like that for my games. Every game on my list would of been scored off. Where's the fun of that? (Well other than playing the game:))Wouldn't you want to stand in front of your finished game room and say to your self "I built this!"?

With that being said, I still stand where I am..

But .. then again.. If I had the cash. :D

lol, I'm too serious.

I got Mine off of craigslist and it was a great deal. The guy did ended up increasing the price on me a little before I got to his place, because people mentioned how rare it was. So I ended Up paying a $100 extra for it, still far less then the guy who sold it to me was offered that day by someone else. He said he had made a deal with me and was going to honor it, he did not need the bad Karma. Anyway the board on Ebay sold for more then I paid for mine. I would say $1500 - $2500 based on quality and the local market you are in. Here is a pic of mine it is Sweet Looking, and a fun game to play.

There was one sitting on craigslist in the Chicago area for months at $800 with no takers. It wasn't working but was in great shape. He dropped the price a few hundo and it vanished. This game holds its value if its top tier. Working and beautiful will bring the bigger money and even that number varies greatly.
