I Robot #54 found

seriously... that is a tool move... I think, if you have two rare pieces, it's just driving the price up on a complete unit by parting them...

Yeah, seems pretty damn stupid. If the seller really loved and appreciated games they wouldn't have done this to a game, especially a very rare game.
It's just greed involved.Seeing this I'm actually kinda surprised the entire game wasn't taken apart and each piece sold individually. But it is the seller's game and he/she can do as they please with it but it would have been better and potentially more lucrative had they sold it complete.

Interesting - seller ended the auction - I wonder if they read this thread....

Looks like the auctions were from donnyjj2005 here...

He's in the cleveland area, and I was mailing back and forth about his I, Robot a few weeks ago, and the problems described in the auction match the problems he described in his post...

The stick problems are most likely the hall effect sensors in the stick, not a problem with the board, so it shouldn't really be of worry to whomever bought the board.

Huson is right. This was my game. I offered the complete working game up for 800 bills about a year ago. I had deals in place, but never heard back or didn't get money. After a year of this u would be pissed too. I have 2 boardsets one fully working, and another semi working. So I sold the working one. I need the room and wanted to keep the spare boardset, but all the negative feedback on this post made me pull it. I have a heart and I don't part games!!!! This was going to be the first one I sold without a boardset. That's why I wasn't piecing it part by part. Guys that know me in the cleveland area know I don't part games. I even sell them whole at a loss. But anyways I hope I'm still a respectable klover in your guys eyes.

So I have a irobot for sale. Comes without the pcb board. I still want to keep the board. Game is in great shape. The halleffect down is going bad and doesn't work all the time. Make offer, first reasonable offer can have it. This not a auction either. I just want to be done with this. I still need the room

If it doesnt sell here. It will sit collecting dust again.

Btw....I was offered 300 for the monitor, on ebay....so at least you know I do feel ba
d.

You got offered $300 for just the monitor? And you didn't take it (after selling the PCB for it)? I assume it's the disco monitor, that's a great offer. I've bought two disco monitors, both under $75.

I'm interested in the game without the PCB. But sounds like you want quite a bit more than $300 for it, which is what I was going to offer. Oh well. Olmsted Falls, OH., hmmm..., Mapquest says that's 347 miles, 5 hours 52 minutes. Piece of cake. Hmmm....

We all have stories of games that may get parted due to selling problems or parts problems. I wouldn't worry over the fuss. Without the background story, it was a funny situation. Your auction was for a complete cabinet, not parts. :D

The funny thing is that the nonworking board went for 30 less then my working one...lol

Sell the monitor and PS for $300 and don't look back... I'd much rather throw a non-disco monitor and more reliable power supply in it when I pick it up anyway ;)

Edit: I see the game is now sold... guess my "first in line" status didn't last long....

Sry Hudson, First Reasonable offer got it....I didnt get a offer from you. You wanted the game with the board

Glad this all worked out happily. I was pretty shocked when I first saw this thread. Not because I'm some kind of purist - I just didn't understand the situation and it seemed crazy to me. Now I understand (kind of). I'd have bought that game for $800 in a heartbeat if I'd seen the original FS post.

I was trying to explain this situation to my wife last night and I described what you did to this I, Robot as just like splitting Jacks in blackjack in Vegas. Creates a lot of drama.

John

as you can see from my avatar, i'm a fan of the game.

every single friggin time I see the game for sale, it's either way way way overpriced, one of those ebay "$5,000 or BO" things, or I miss the auction.
