The game works and plays. The controller is just a tiny bit sticky otherwise gameplay is fine. As I mentioned in another thread the sound does not work it says "sound interface error" when i run the diagnostic. The right side of the cabinet is where its beat up the most. I 'm not sure its fixable since its particle board. There is a spot at the bottom where the T-moulding goes in and the slot is much wider than it should be, i incl. a pic of it. To me it looks like all the art work needs to be replaced. The guts of the thing look like they are in good shape just very dirty.

Oh yeah, y'all always comment on stuff you find in your games. I found a rolled up dollar bill inside (whats that used for?), 51 cents, and a butter knife.

Here are some pics of it. Just let me know what you guys think of it. I'll put up some more stuff later I just got home with it.

Not too bad, should restore nicely.

For the audio issue, try reseating the audio chips (on the top board - a6, a7, a8 & a9 I think) and reseating the 5 ribbon cables connecting the boards.

Welcome to the Tron club. $300 sounds like a pretty good deal.

$300 is a fine deal. It's real easy to look at what the game needs and see how it's going to cost you several hundred more dollars. But reality is, if you buy the boards, $150, buy just a control panel $150+, and everything else, it would cost a lot to put one together.

A perfectly restored Tron should have a $1000 investment into it. or more.

so did you put it back down?

seriously though, nice get. it does need some work, but it seems kinda rare that you see trons for this price.

I agree...good buy. Better than the crappy one I bought. Lots of info on how to restore it, so get some guts and a wallet and go for it!
