Anyone around that provides this service?

Here's the story: I have a UN Squadron CPS1 board that I'd like to convert to Area 88 (the Japanese version). I've been told this is only two eproms that need to be burned, model 27c010. I'd rather not have to send my originals out so I can change back easily.

So I'd need to purchase the eproms and have them burned. Would be best if the person burning could also sell me the eproms.

Please PM me if you can help, thanks.

According to a dude on another forum the difference is only two roms:

"I've done this mod with my UN Squadron board too. It was only two eproms that need to be replaced.

AR_36 from Area88 replaces ARU_30 from UN Squad
AR_42 from Area88 replaces ARU_35 from UN Squad

The rest of the program roms are the same. You can see this from the cps1 driver in mame. I think the roms are 27c010."

They look way different to me...

It shows that UN Squadron uses 4Mb ROMs for graphics and thus a different PAL chip. It also has 1 4Mb program EPROM and 4 1Mb EPROM.

And that Area 88 has 16 1Mb ROMs for graphics (and a different PAL) along with 8 1Mb program EPROMs.

Kinda makes it tougher to figure out the differences.

I'll do it

I can burn you two of those eproms for 20.00 shipped but I might look into what channelmanic is saying he kinda knows a little. I think he could also do it for you but he is just trying to see if it would work first. Anyway let me know if you want me to do the chips just give me the file you want on each one. I have 27C010-105's in stock.

thanks for the help guys. I'm waiting to hear back from the source on this (guy who told me he did it) and then I'm going to go ahead with getting someone to burn them.
