Hey guys, I have a U5000 in a daytona usa, was working but picture was real dim on one part of the screen figured a cap kit would fix it for sure, when i put it back in all it did was click, took it back out, the white standup resistor in the power section went bad, put a new one in still clicking, hot is still good white resistor is still good

any ideas?

Thanks!

ok well I have a flow chart, I checked hot it appears to be good, I checked D106 A, B, C they all appear good, only thing left it says is the flyback and its very rare for these to go out they claim, any other ideas? is a u2000 and a u5000 flyback the same?

Thanks!

there were like 3 updates for the U5000, I wonder if one of them pertains to the problem you're having.

B+ is fine, looks like its had a couple updates already, I dont know where to go from here everything checks out, still clicks

Thanks for all the imput, if anybody else has any ideas let me know

look very close of where the long plastic piece attaches to the chassis board...
theres one spot where a jutted out piece of plastic hits directly on a transistors solder joint, and over time it becomes open and some of the transistors in that circuit also can fry..

lemme see if i can find the documents pertaining to it.. theres about $80-100 worth of updates to do to the thing on top of what else may be wrong.. have a dead one myself right now myself lol

do a search. That info is posted here somewhere already. I think I might have done one at some point...

its in one of my 50 pages of subscribed threads lol.. parenthood has been getting in the way of klov time lately...

One point being you should be able to resurrect a U5000 and have it running factory strong without those updates. Those updates were incorporated due to longevity problems.
There's something else wrong.... and I loath a U5000.

Yeah, I got one in storage that blows the HOT after working just fine for 2-3 minutes. All updates have been done - twice....
