I currently own a Bally 1987 escape from the lost world pinball I have the option to trade for a Gottlieb 1993 street fighter II pinball......
both machines have been shopped out... what does every one think? I have never played the street fighter II.. before I go over to this guys house I wanted some opinions from you guys on here.....Also is one worth more than the other?
All info is greatly appreciated!...

Thanks!

Keep what you have. SFII is a seriously terrible pin. This is just my opinion, but, I'm sure others will comment as well.

Ballys from that era have some awesome artwork and some of them have pretty good game play. I absolutely _hate_ bally flippers... feels like you are clubbing the ball with those giant q-tip things :(
I've never played SF-II pin... GTB are built well, but their SS games were not usually ranked tops.
So much of it depends on your opinions and desires... whats important to you in a pin... artwork, theme, rules, etc...
according to http://bostonpinball.biz/ebay_112112.htm
SF-II => 725
ELW => 745
sounds like a wash in the $$ dept.

If you've has ELW for a while and want to mix it up, go check it out :)
cheers
/Tim

What makes street fighter such a bad pin? Im just asking dont know much about the machine...I do know its a Gottlieb system 3 witch I herd is a great system..
Is it terrible game play?

Thanks

It's a fairly simple game, and although fans of the arcade game seem to like the pin well enough, the main complaints I have seen in the past are regarding the artwork, and the audio getting repetitive.

I'd keep what you have personally, but by all means go check it out - you may well decide it's something you'd rather have - doesn't matter how popular a pin is until it's time to sell it; if you enjoy playing it, go for it.

Street Fighter II is a simple pin. I played it and enjoyed it, but if it were your only pin I would not want that particular title.

Escape From the Lost World is a great pin. Very deep (literally) and the art is way cool in my opinion. I like the molded mountains on it. Wish they would have done the alphanumerics better on the displays, and I personally think the music is cheesy, but it reminds me of the old Land of the Lost show, so it makes sense :)

Play the Street Fighter before you decide anythign. Ultimately, the choice of what you like better should be just that, YOUR choice, not what a forum thinks :)

Oh, I think your EFTLW would be worth more than SFII if it were a straight sale as well.

Good luck!

Chris

Personally, I would choose Super Mario over SF2, the game play in SM is way more fun as Gottliebs go. I have never played lost world, but it looks pretty fun too.

Qbass187 has a SF2 for sale you should ask his opinion.

Thanks for everyone's input! I think i need to go give the sf2 a play now!

Have a great day every one!!

Does eftlw have multiball? Never played one.

Yep. it sure does :)

It's a cool older game of the era of Truck Stop and such. The upper playfield is pretty cool and it's hard to get the balls over the really small crossway to get multiball.

They used to have one near me but it is long gone. This is a game that you don't see much. At least I don't.

It's really cool if it still has the screened playfield glass. Very 3-D effect if that is still on the game.

Chris

Yes it does have the silk screening on the play field glass
The machine is in supper condition with just a couple of bugs
That I am trying to work out...ill post a couple of pics here shortly..

Thanks!

i had a street fighter 2 never had any problems with it.it just wasnt that much to me.the one thing i did injoy was the car crunch with the flipper and it has alot of flashers.i never got to play the other game so cant tell you about it game.

Hello here are a couple of pics of my pinball eftlw.........

I had a sf2, I thought it was great, not as good as my stargate, but its a shot pattern based game and has several fun modes, most people dont give it a chance, I would trade that in a heartbeat, but most will say its a wash, I also liked the theme, once you get the ruleset in the SF2 you will love to play it, I sure did, I sold it and upgraded but I go play it and still find it fun...

Average price

SFII averages about $50 more than EFLW. About even when you take condition into factor.
