i have a CC min baseball, the sound card took a crap. it has 2 sounds,
crowd noise and an additional whistling when you hit a homer. the
whistle is fine, the crowd noise is pretty much just noise, like
static. there are 7 PNP transistors, two of them have an open leg, to
generate sound. i swapped the 2 sound transistors, same result. i got
nowhere with it, so did a more knowlegable friend. most of the charm
in the game is the sound.

i'm going to put a SD card in it for sound. cheap as possible, the
game hasnt much value. anyone know where to find one? its needs to trigger the sounds simply, via relay contacts.

ps- if anyone has a mini baseball working card, let me know

thanks

That machine's sound board uses discrete components on it so it should be easy to repair. First is REPLACE all the electrolytic capacitors on it as they are about 40 years old.

hi, you would think so. i changed all the caps, no help. its not the amp( LM380) , both sounds run thru the amp. all the resistors test good, as do all the transistors. swapping transistors around to try to move the fault didnt help ( a desperate move) . i guesss i could re-populate the entire board, but at that point, a more modern card might be better.
