Hey, my garage may look like a filthy asshole, but you don't have to call it gay!!!

These new games are definitely garage games. ...but who knows, maybe when I have a pin party, I'll bring in 2 or 3 to put next to my kitchen ;) Ideally, eventually the garage will become the "extra gameroom"

Everyday I live I miss my Apollo 13. I bought it originally to sell and that is what I had to do. Such a good game, I really need another one. Nice pickup especially the condition. Clean it up some and you will be good.

Huh .... a pinball machine that you have to take out a second mortgage on when you need to replace balls :p
Congrats on the pickup.

No offense, but Apollo 13 and Mario Bros. really due suck azz. Stick to 1990's Bally/Williams or Gottlieb EM's.

You don't have to play them. I have plenty of 90's B/W games, and EMs fucking blow. :) So...yeah....

Please post a video of SMB if you get a chance! There are no good videos on Youtube and I wouldn´t mind living vicariously through you until I find one.

Why don't you just install Visual Pinball and download this table and play it on your computer? It has full DMD rom support, looks and plays great.

Congrats, you never have too many pins. If you have pins that are not getting played, buy more beer and have more friend over.

i know i've been accused of loving EVERY pin ever made ( ;) ), but apollo13 is one that's on my short list....i just never see them for sale.

awesome pickup(s).

Probably because VP still has MILES to go for realistic physics.
I've played upwards of 30+ tables and they all suffer from the same ball blur
and "computer like" ball movement. In fact just today I spent 3 hours at work playing MM, TAF, JD and CV on VP. I hadn't played any of this since VP8. While there are certainly improvements on VP9 it still doesn't come close to reality. Their forum is chuck full of the same type of remarks. There is nothing that compares to playing the real deal. VP is great for someone limited on space or funds and I think it's an awesome project - but it still "plays" like a computer game.

for anyone contemplating a VP table, that's spot on.....it will never (in its current form or likely upgrades in the next few years) emulate pinball 100%. just ain't gonna happen.

with that said, i think VP is an invaluable resource for checking out which pins might make your "next to purchase" list.....it gives you a great look at the layout, sounds, modes, and shots in any given pin. 100%? no. not close. but i feel confident in buying a pin i've never played or played only sparingly by checking out the virtual table. i bought my who dunnit, south park, and starship troopers pins that way......and i was not disappointed. i got a pretty good look at how each pin plays.

just my two cents. i think VP has a definite place in today's pin-collector scene. and i'm still saving room for that last pin in my collection to be a virtual pin.............i'll make room for the ones i can afford/acquire and then turn to the virtual world to satisfy my "need" for tons more. :)
