It doesn't look like the KLOV entry image, is it a conversion, or a different design?

Definitely a conversion, its not worth as much as the dedicated, keep that in mind if you buy it.

At least its not in a PunchOut or PlayChoice like I've been seeing lately.

I have good Mortal Kombat 1 Memories

Or wait for a II or 3...I'm surprised a sequel was made, the first game sucked almost as bad as Pit Fighter.

I know most people will sy get MK2 or MK3, and while I like MK2, I spend several hundred dollars one summer on MK 1 at the local grocery store with a friend. Also there really was never a very good home version, the best being the PSP one. I just really had fun with that game.

I will take the fact it is a conversion into account. Anyone have a MK1 in my area that would sell to me?

I would also want revision 5 roms.

Definite conversion.I'd pass on it unless you could get it really cheap.
It's not too bad of a conversion. If the price is right I'd pick it up enjoy the game then sell it when a nice dedicated version pops up. How much are they asking for it Tighe?

Any idea what it was?

Well, when you see an obvious Nintendo cabinet with 2 monitors, pretty obvious its either a PO or PC. Either way theres been quite a few of them on CL lately, converted to MK or SF, among others... I really dont know what Op's are thinking, they make terrible conversions.

I dont think that cab looks all that bad. Definitely looks like a smaller and lighter cab so that could be a good thing. The gray sticks out like a sore thumb though, I'd paint it red to match the artwork. I wouldnt hesitate to offer around $200 if I really wanted it, wouldnt go much higher though.

You are right about the gray! The one I used to play at the groc store was an original, but I remember back in the day you would see it jammed into any cabinet. The worst was when they put it in a SF1 cabinet and set the two middle buttons as block.

Can you imagine if someone put a fighting game in a Baby Pac or GATG?

I agree, there's just no substitute for playing this game in a dedicated cab, especially if you're a big fan of the game.

The conversion doesn't look that bad, IMO, and if you like the game $200-$250 isn't bad, but I wouldn't pay more than $250. The working PCB alone is worth $75, and you could always do something else with the cab if needed, or make it a multi-cab or mame setup. Or better yet, just get the MK2 PCB (easily found for around $75 working) and you can switch games anytime you want..

Good luck!

Craziness! Sure, a lot of people like MK2 or MK3 the best, but personally I think MK1 was the most significant (and arguably the best) and it was hugely successful, far more than the later versions. By MK3 most people who were nuts about 1/2 had lost interest.

I liked MK2 but IMO MK3 flat out blew...
