So, for the past 8 months my wife and I have debated what to build in the back yard for my "arcade". After about a month we "kind of" agree'd on a 12x20 arcade shack. Well last weekend, we went by a local guy who builds custom sheds, and I finally got my way with a 14x20 shack. That should be enough room for pins down one side and vids down the other, and plenty of room to walk down the middle even in peeps are playing back to back. So hopefully in the next few months (majority permit work) I should have a shell out back waiting to be insulated, wired up, dry walled, a/c and heat, cable etc. So hopefully by next winter it will be 100%.

I'd go bigger, but #1 I was already pushing my luck with the wife and #2 can't fit it in the backyard with the 1/3 rule my city has with yard space vs, buildings.

I'll post pics as I start to break ground.

Cheers
Kevin

That's awesome! I'm planning on doing this same thing... Are you going to go with blacklight carpet? I'm thinking of using a concrete stain on the foundation, then ordering a blacklight rug to fill in the center of the room. Looking forward to seeing pics!

Check out this thread for some inspiration!

Congrats! I love having a backyard shackade. All the fun with none of the restrictions of a basement arcade. I can get as loud as I want and not wake the wife and kids on school nights.

Yes I plan to go all out, it will just take some time to piece it all together. I plan on using the "shockwave" pattern.

Glad to hear you were successful, but at some point you will wish you had the space to go bigger.
I have a 30 X 50 weekend building and have about 30' linear the wife has allowed to be lined in pins and arcades with room for about 3 more. Need room for ~4 more waiting to be completed in the home garage. I'll squeeze them in somehwere, but damn, will it ever stop?
Basically, you'll never have enough space and something has to go for the new acquisitions.
But it's all for fun.
I guess that's why opurtunities exist on ebay.

Congrats on the coming addition. What did that 14 x 20 shack cost you?

Holy smokes Cadillacman, did you save those games?

Can't wait for pictures my friend. Good luck on it! Sure it will do well!
