I love it when local people reach out to me and offer me first dibs on cool stuff! (Bump N' Jump pickup)

I got a message Friday evening from a distant friend who lives nearby on Facebook asking me if I was still into arcades and if I was interested in this for $100 before he posted it on market place...

To which I had said definitely! I had never seen a Bump N' Jump in person myself before, only in photos so I was pretty excited about this one. I ended up getting it for $50 and traded him a few other small non-arcade related stuff that I no longer needed for it (the guy runs a pawn shop).

He told me that he plugged it in and nothing happened and he hadn't tried anything else after. While we were loading it up I noticed this on the K4600 and gave a little chuckle...1000024736.jpg
At the time I thought "someone got tired of soldering in fuses lol" turns out it was probably the main fault.

When I got it unloaded and started probing around I found the main 3A slowblo was blown, so I replaced it and unplugged the board set from the power supply to test the voltages going to the board before fully turning it on for the first time. When I turned it on while the board was unplugged the main 3A fuse blew again after a few seconds, which at least told me it wasn't a short on the board set... then I remembered the fuse holder on the K4600 after dusting off the fuse it turns out it was a slowblo instead of a standard fast blow 3A. So I just unplugged it and plugged in a spare monitor and was pleased to see that she was actually alive lol.1000024732.jpg1000024733.jpg
I have 2 spare K4600s built and ready, I'll try replacing the chassis tomorrow and see if i can play a few rounds.

I had to go back and look at the date of the posting, given the $50 price tag.

Wow, awesome grab!

Got her going!

I ended up not being able to swap just the chassis, the image on the original tube was just a small blurry mess, I believe someone fried the yoke by crossing up part of the vert and horz windings, which is probably why it kept blowing fuses.

I maybe wrong but the yoke on the k4600 I put back in it goes Red, Yellow, Green, Blue from right to left. Maybe the og one is correct but I've never seen a K4600 yoke like that before.

EDIT: after some researching the wiring on the yoke as I found it should have been OK. The red and blue are horizontal and the yellow and green are vertical so the image would have been in the incorrect orientation but otherwise functional.

Prices are normalizing again, finally.

Would be absolutely great, if I only had room for any more...
Maybe some prices....
....I saw a $6000 Quantum in Green Bay.
