I like how this turned out! Full Screen Pole Position!

Today I got around to testing the monitors I pulled out of some horribly weathered games. Heres a backstory. A Swollen-like-a-sponge Roadblasters supplied me with a K7901 monitor with light burn, nothing bad. After cleaning the chassis and making some adjustments, I find that the image was projected way too large for most games. See picture 1. I couldnt find the width coil at the time (to tell you the truth, I didnt give much effort) so I put the monitor aside. Thats when I got to thinking.... Since Pole Position's video output is smaller than most games, I wondered what it would look like?

So I figured that since I didnt have a monitor shroud for my Pole Position anyway, I gave this K7901 a try. After some adjusting of the pictures position, it looked amazingly nice! Then I took a 19" monitor shroud I salvaged from the Super Strike that has long since been destroyed, and fabricated a new shroud for the Pole Position. And viola! I am racing in full 19" and it doesnt look half bad at all! A cap kit will be in order eventually, but I definitely prefer Pole Position to be in full screen rather than the tiny little square it usually is.

The last picture shows what my old monitor looked like prior to putting in this newfound K7901.

Looks sweet! Almost all the pictures on my monitors don't take up the whole screen. I guess thats something I need to get going on.

My pacman used to take up the whole screen. But with its new 48in1 board. It takes up 3/5 and it doesnt seem to be sinking with the monitor for it ramdomly flashes green on the screen. Somtimes it just stays up their. Any idea what that might be?

Oh yeah could you post pics of the smaller pp screen. For those of us who dont know what the original looks like.etheir way I like the bigger image is better.:)

You do know you can likely adjust the width of your image using the width coil on the chassis... right?

Yes, but when I had tested the monitor, I didnt see the width coil until after I had already put it in the Pole Position, it was hidden behind the flyback. I figured this looked nice, so I let it be.
