I know we must cram our games together, but...

All close (like what I remember)...

I have a 10x12 room with 2 cabs (Spider-Man and MK1) kiddie cornered so i can work on them. most of that room is taken up by 3 desks and multiple PC's and my Slot Machine. they have no side art really, so nothing special to see there lol.

But then there is...

...separate. But the majority of photos I've found of old school arcade shots show them close together.

Now you're just being silly.

I don't know, I have always been a fan of spiral staircases. You could turn your arcade into a 2 level! I have walkout stairs so I don't have to worry about taking large things up and down spiral ones if I put them in. But the stairs in my house are in the center anyway.

These are from the arcade that my Gaplus came from:

I always remember them jammed as close together as they would fit. Spaceport would sometimes have one new game in the front that faced away from the others (toward the front of arcade) with both sides exposed.

Only other game that got that much space was Chexx hockey. :)

They sure are Tomy makes them. I had a few as a kid. Love them. Tomy makes all kinds of wonderful mechanical games!

We had a number of them, but as soon as they started growing anything, my mold-freak mother would toss them. That happened to the thermos of my near-mint Star Wars lunchbox, too. :(

I just bought a house with a big basement because I wanted room without needing to cram everything together. House hunting with this hobby in mind is a real PITA. I feel extremely lucky to have found my house.

This pic was taken today after moving in the first game. It was taken standing in the middle of the room.

Sometimes I buy side art for a project...then wonder if I should even bother. I have one opening in the middle of a row that exposes the one side of side art of two machines...and that's it.

...and yah. BITD my arcades were crammed as well. Just how it is.

spacing

the way my room is laid out, i have only 3 games that you can see the sides otherwise they are 6 inches apart from one another. the ones showing side-art: bubbles, dig-dug, and star wars. all of my machines have decent side-art, but like most of you i sacrifice the side-art to squeeze in more games.i dont mind this, i think it still looks nice if they are not hitting each other and there is room to breathe. btw anybody dress up like the 1980s when you hang in your arcade? check out the kid with the high socks and the red and white pumas in the arcade pic....probably a member here!!

I don't dress in 80s style clothing to play on my games..but I think I will plan an 80s theme party once I get moved in.

Mrgone posted this in its own thread, but since it includes many of the 80's pics posted here, figured it was appropriate here too:
