I know this has been asked alot, but what paint should I get

Got 2 arcade games I am thinking of painting. My tekken 2 and Xmen COTA. Both are solid cabs, but they were painted black, and it wasnt a good job. I was thinking of painting the Xmen blue and the tekken 2 red. I saw for black, I think people say use oil based black satin, or something like that. Will they look ok in those colors painting it myself with a roller, or should I stay with black?

I was thinking I need to sand it smooth, prime them, and then paint. I wasnt looking to spend a lot since these are not keepers and wont resell for much.

What kind of primer do i get to?

Go to Lowes/Home Depot/Menards and ask them for primer that's easy to sand. I have had good luck with all the interior paint I've used to roll my cabinets. If they ask what you're painting, say "interior utility cabinets that need to look good". Don't say arcade cabinet unless you feel like explaining yourself.

Sand, Prime, Sand again using 220, prime, sand again using 220, roll on the sain or gloss black, sand again with 220, roll on a finish coat. Gloss looks good, too. Doesn't come out actual gloss if you use a roller, still has a slighly hammered finish. Looks very cool.

Use a roller with a 1/4" nap, duct tape it a few times to get rid of the fuzzies (or use a foam roller).

Takes a day or two waiting for the paint to dry but will look really good.

Mmm, I've tried the roller thing. It's good if your looking for a certain texture. If your really looking for a smooth glossy surface best use a compressor/spray on a day low on humidity.
