I killed my Asteroids Deluxe cabaret! - Ressurected!

So..... I picked up this Asteroids Deluxe cabaret last week. It seemed to work fine before I bought it. I got it home and turned it back on and it was fine. Got it in the house and replace the power cord. Turned it on and just a loud hum and no led on the pcb. It looked like the edge connector was loose. Turned it back on and it worked, but the resistor on the AR burned up. So I ordered parts to bulletproof this thing and in the process I killed it.

I have very little experience with vectors so hopefully this is something simple.

Symptoms as of now.

PCB - light is on, both start buttons are on solid. Test mode changes nothing.
Monitor - I have neck glow, spotkiller led is on.

Today I...

-replaced the edge connector - I did 1 pin at a time and have rechecked it against the old connector and the schematics and it looks right.

-recapped the pcb. - checked and rechecked - all caps soldered in with proper polarity

-recapped the ar and replaced the connectors- I get a solid 5 volts at the pcb so it seems to be working.

replaced the big blue observing proper polarity

replaced the fuseblock. tested fuses and voltages - appear good

I have done nothing with the monitor besides unplug/plug in the molex.

Any idea???????????????????????

The spot killer LED is on because I would guess that you have a logic problem. Your ARI burned R29 or R30 becaus of runaway voltage. It's time to put your logic in a running cabinet or use an Oscope set on vector to look at the output of the board. If those are not options available to you your need to contact mrbill08 here on KLOV. He just repaired two Asteroids logic boards for me at a unbeatable price. He is reliable and I will use him again if I need an Asteroids board repair.

No R29 & R30 on an A/R I power supply. (R25 & R26)

Bring your parts over and we will throw them in my UR and see what we get

Thanks Dave, you're always willing to help.

I feel like a dumbass. After all that I really thought I botched something. I reseated all the roms and it came up but it was funky looking. I dialed in the +5 to dead +5 and it looks great!

Thanks guys. - Barry "check the obvious dumbass" Flagg.
