I just got a Paperboy - OMGWTFBBQ™ - Woot!™

Sorry Toobin', it's time to go. We had some good times, but it's time for the Paperboy to take your place. I'll miss you. I will.

This was a game I really played a lot when I was younger. I loved it. In fact, my Dad ran over my sister's foot with our station wagon when he dropped her and I off at a campground game room to go play this game. He thought she was out of the car and the door was shut, she wasn't. He ran over her foot. That's what I remember about Paperboy, my sister being stuck under our station wagon. She was fine. Badly bruised ankle.

Only bad thing here is that the sides have been painted black. I am gonna get some system 2 side art and call it a day. Should I paint it white first??? Real clean inside. Now I need to get this beast in my basement. This is one heavy cab!!!!

Can't wait to play it. Also, why is the PCB so GIANT!? Also, someone moved the powerswitch to inside the coin door. I guess it's not a huge deal.

That's a beaut!

Are those repro handle bars, or very good conditioned originals? They look to me to be the latter!

Personally if I wasn't gonna make the sides look original I wouldn't spend the money on the side art.

I don't understand. Please explain.

I was gonna paint the sides white (or apply vinyl) and then apply the art. What else is there to do?

Paperboy is a great game. You can now buy the Championship Sprint board and CP and it switch's out quite easy. Nice score it looks very clean.

Is there anything left to collect, for the Massachusetts Madman?!? How does one find room left in the Mushroom Kingdom, to a"mass", such a collection?!? Man, if I had your $$$, John, I'd burn Phet's! ;) Amazing! Nice backdrop story and cant wait for the video! :)

PS..... Did you really trademark those?

Paint the sides white and give them art! Even standard cabs look better than one's painted black!! It's a fact.

Don't paint it white..apply white vinyl, then the decals, as originally done. The prep work for applying vinyl is a major chore, but not any more than doing a quality paint job. Paint wouldn't look 'right'.

congrats John, game looks pretty clean too, if your gonna put it between 2 games I wouldn't worry about the sides if not, white vinyl and systems 2 sideart allday.
hopefully oneday I'll find a nice one in Fl.

to me this sounded like you were considering not painting the cab or adding vinyl, just applying side art to the machine as is.

Or maybe you are thinking the side art covers the entire side of the cab. Although I'm not 100% certain, I don't believe it does. I may be wrong though. Although I have had conversations with a couple folks that have restored paperboys and all have mentioned that they applied vinyl to the sides of the cab and then applied the side art on top of the vinyl.

Yes, you will need new vinyl before applying side art, as the side art comes as just the colored "Atari Games" portion. And it has a white outline around it too. It would look kinda tacky on a black background.
