I just drove 300 miles for this arcade machine

Looks great! Congrats. Sorry, couldn't read the thread title and not think of this...

Yeah, you beat me to it, other Grant. I was next in line.

Yes this was the ad that was in Virginia but the machine was actually in Maryland.

I had emailed him as soon as I found out about it. told me to give him a call he gave me his cell phone number and I told him on the phone that I could be there tonight with 500 dollars.

He said okay and so I bought it from Him. I won't get home tonight till 3am though!

Nice... I saw the ad too, but figured it was gone. Fun game for sure, though I'm not sure a conversion would be a keeper for me.

Just got home and unloaded the arcade machine. The last hour of driving with the scariest of my life I'm going to sleep now guys I'll post pictures and everything tomorrow.

300 round trip or 600 total? I have driven much further for what most would consider less. Yeah its in a tempest but the repro cabs are available through Twiz and maybe from the guy in PA Twiz helped set-up if he is up and running his business.

Cool, I'm glad I didn't bite when he told me that he would sell it to me if I "gave him a reason to" after he said he was supposed to deliver it to some guy in fairfax yesterday. Congrats! :)

Nice score, man! I've got a Tempest conversion myself, and I love it. Major Havoc is one of those grail games that's deserving of the hype, in my opinion. The roller controller takes the gameplay to another level. Track one down if you can.

Hit up Rikitiki and see if he's got any of that custom side art left that he did for MH. Here it is on mine:

Jealous......as usual.....

Yeah I have been very fortunate with my Vector acquisitions lately!

was this the guy in va? looks nice!

Oddly enough the ad was for VA but he was in Maryland!!! 5 hours each way, I'm still tired from that expedition.

Sorry Grant! When I saw I could do a day trip (err . . . night trip) and I had the cash on hand I contacted him immediately and told him I could be there today with cash, I think that is why I got it.

Nice Pickup, Congrats

Thank you!

Actually, I might have been next in line! I'm only 15min from him too, damn! Great buy!

It really was, the 6100 has some issues . . . mostly the 3 inch of dust that has collected on it, I think I will be rebuilding it this weekend honestly.

I would LOVE a dedicated Major Havoc, I truly would, but I just don't have the money for it. I love the tempest conversion just because I love the cabinet. I'm not a fan of the Gravitar/Space Duel conversions for Major Havoc.

300 miles each way, 600 miles total! I've driven further for cabs as well, but that was the farthest spure of the moment trip I have ever done.

Yeah sorry about that!

I want the roller control panel!!! Where did you find that control panel? I contacted Takeman but he didn't do a tempest with a roller last time!

300 is nothing for that, nice pickup. Had one for a while last year fun player.

I paid $500 but yeah 300 miles each way, still even figuring in gas, it was a good price.

I don't think I've ever seen that game... is it really good?

Its different, some people like it, some people hate it. I'm still on the fence personally but for this price I could figure out if I liked it later

No worries, you got there first and if your willing to drive 600+ miles for it you deserve it more then me.

Honestly I appreciate that. I saw the threads, and I knew it would be a hell of a night for me, but its one of the few Atari Color Vectors I don't own, and the price was just way too good for me to pass up.
