So, I was going to replace the battery in my Judge Dredd board and in lifting the tap, I also lifted/broke the solder joint on the + side of the battery holder to the PCB.

How quickly do I need to fix this? This is just for high scores, right? (It isn't like those soldered on sucide batteries, in that I need it fixed ASAP, is it?)

Thanks.

If it IS a suicide battery, your board's already dead. It only takes a few seconds. That's why there's such a convoluted hot-swapping process to replacing suicide batteries.

If it wasn't actually embedded in an IC, though, it's probably not a suicide battery. Take your time -- what data would be destroyed, has already been destroyed.

Thanks for the help. I don't think it is a real suicide one as it needed replacement (the battery) due to low voltage, so I doubt it was doing its job anyway.
