Had my Zaxxon for a month or so and noticed some sounds were missing. When I got around to it, I ordered caps from Mouser ($2.40 for the caps and $7.99 to get them here). The numbers and type are specified on the KLOV listing for Zaxxon. Got the board out of the cabinet (what a pain in the ass as I removed the wood board everything is mounted to as well). It was a little different than capping a monitor as the sound PC is quite large compared to a monitor board. Got everything back together and back in the cabinet and I now have 5 or 6 sounds that were not there before, including the explosion when you die. It just made a sort of fizzle sound before. Apparently, each sound is made by its own circuit, some use OP Amps, some use the trusty 555 timer and dried up caps screw with them as much as they do monitor circuits. The game definitely has more depth to it now.
