I have two different K7000 chassis, but need to use one....

I have these two chassis, both standard res, both for a 19'' screen. The first one pictured below is a Zenith WG19K7648 that is not working. The second Chassis pictured below is a K7000A which does work. The K7648 chassis was originally in the game and has a 10 pin setup on the yoke that matches the monitor. The K7000 neck board has an 8 pin socket which obviously does not fit the montior. My question is,can the K7000 be used by either swapping the neck board completely,or would I just have to swap the neckboard socket from the K7648 neck board over to the K7000 neckboard?

I'm not changing the fly on the other because it does not function,it's dead. The 7000a is the working chassis. Is it indeed an "A" model? i don't see how it's visually different from any other 7000 I have. I was "told" that it is a 7000A,how do I confirm this?

The first one pictured is a K7000A. "Zenith manufactured" (olive green two piece flyback)

The second one is a regular K7000. (marked P447)

Great!! Thanks for clarifying that for me Kevin. So what do you guys think I should do with the old chassis? I have heard they pretty much suck anyways and Buffet tells me the flybacks are unavailable. Use it for donor parts?

Might be fixable.....would have to just go over it for the obvious and try to fire it up.
If the flyback has failed, then use it for donor parts.
Those are typically just as reliable as any other K7000 aside from no available replacement flybacks. Just about every other part on those can be used on any other K7000. (some minor value differences here and there)

But if I were you, just concentrate on getting the regular K7000 (P447) chassis going and then worry about the other later.

I went over it yesterday and found that the 2.7v 7 watt resistor in the B+ area was no good so I replaced it. I hooked it back up, fired it up and the 3amp 250 fuse on the power supply block glowed orange and popped.
