And the results are....well...pretty good? :p

So what gives with the horizontal green lines? Also got issues with Super Mario Bros, but I'm wondering if it's not the PPU, because Dr. Mario looks so good and I can't get SMB to look anything like it should in outside areas...underground levels look fine though WTF?

I'll have videos of that later...

this is what i doo

looking better after the rejuve. :)

seems like your sub brightness is up to high turn it down a little bit so the schreen is black in the back ground. the pot is on the main chassis around the middle. be careful it's not real easy to get to.
i file down a long piece of plastic or a wooden dowle for an adjustment tool around 18-20" long. its also eayser to adjust the sub brightness with the lits down low and the monitor sitting on a stool behind the game. the cables are long enough so you can do it pretty easy from the back.
then adjust the regular brightness after you get the plexie and monitor back in the game.

also if your running it thrugh the inverter board mounted on top of the flybak if you have one. disconect it and run the video cable directally to the chassis. i had the same problem on some of mine when i was using the inverter board you dont need it for nintendo games.

Didn't help...Mario still looks like crud in the outside world. I don't know what the issue is. I took out the PPU and reseated it (And fixed a pin someone had apparently bent in for some reason....thank christ it didn't break being straightened back out, but I can't tell for the life of me what it did.).

Will try to get some pics up tomorrow, gonna need help on this one. I can't even tell you if there's an inverter board in there or not!

another thing to try look at the pcb and and see if the color adjustments on there are all out of wack. i would center all of them and all the color pots and gains on the chassis neck board and go from there.

to see if you have a inverter.
follow your video cable from the game pcb all the way to the monitor if it stops at a little pcb on top of the high voltage cage covering the flyback. and its connected to a small pcb, and then continues to the chassis then you have an invetrer board.

but if it dosent and it goes all the way from the game pcb the chassis connector then you don't have an inverter pcb.

at that point i would start and reseat all the chips look for broken or bent legs.
if none then center all the color pots and try again.

sanyos are one of the best looking monitors out there. but can be a pain somtimes to get perfect. good luck

Yeah, I figure it's something with the PCB since Dr. Mario looks freakin' fantastic IMO. I had gone back last night and hit it with the rejuv again on the blue gun because I think there's something wrong with my actual unit, and it actually cleaned up the focus a good bit...but not the color. That's when I started wondering about the PCB and had pulled it out to look at the chips.

There's a freeplay mod in there, and like I said, the PPU definately was seated wrong with the bent pin and all...I should've checked the others while I had it out but it was late. =| Did notice the color pots on the PCB but was unable to find any info on them so I didn't mess with them, but good to know that's what they're for after all, lol.
